Testimonial from April 2024 - Nicky Lawrence, Teacher, Holden Lane Primary School, Stoke-on-Trent.
“Matt has been working with our Year 4 class for the last few weeks and from day one identified the children who needed extra support. His calm and positive approach ensures that the children are immersed in their guitar lessons and want to succeed. Matt guides the children so that they learn lots of new songs within a short space of time which improves self-esteem and concentration. Many of our children have asked their grown-ups for guitars! Within the space of five lessons, Matt has encouraged all of the children to persevere, try their best and most importantly, to have fun and enjoy their guitar lessons. All of the Year 4 children performed a concert in front of the whole school and their parents/carers and were incredibly proud of their achievements. We couldn’t have done this without Matt’s gentle persuasion and huge talent! We look forward to our weekly guitar lessons and we have Matt to thank for this.”

Great day in Maerdy today (South Wales) Playing guitar with years 4, 5 & 6. Biggest class yet - 38 pupils!!
"Guitar man, you rock! Clifford Bridge's Year 5 had the most amazing day with Matt, from Kids that Rock. From the moment we first communicated with Matt, everything from the booking to the final performance to our parents was absolutely seamless. Matt is a genuinely talented, engaging and thoroughly nice individual. He provided a bespoke workshop for our children, tailored to our theme and made sure that every child was able to anticipate, supporting those with little musical experience and challenging those who could already play. He was incredibly popular with our children and we would, without question, recommend him, although we're a little anxious that recommending him to too many people, will make him harder to book next time! Thank you Matt!"

Testimonial 17th Feb 2022.
Castleton Primary (Whitby)
The children of Castleton school had an amazing day jamming alongside Matt from “Kids that Rock”to songs old and new using boom whackers, pitch pipes and guitars. Matt was wonderful with the children and very inclusive. He quickly had the children progressing through each stage of a song using open strings and frets. The number system, meant that all of the children could feel confident very quickly to play a tuned instrument.
The children were genuinely excited and have given some wonderful feedback.
‘I liked playing the music with the Rockstar, it was really fun’ - EYFS.
‘I now want to learn to play the guitar.’ - Year 6
‘It was awesome, I liked it all.’ - Year 5
We finished the day with a wonderful performance by the KS2 children to their parents.
Thank you so much Matt for a truly wonderful day, we hope to meet you again, the children would love it.

Kids That Rock is currently on tour in Thirsk (North Yorkshire). I've had a fantastic day working at Knayton Academy. Mixed classes, from Y1 to Y6, rocking to pop tunes and a bit of Led Zeppelin for good measure..."Rock and Roll" 🎸😁
"It was great to see year 8 and 9 students engaged in learning a new instrument and students who already knew how to play chords, still learning how to fingerpick and play individual pitches. It was an enjoyable day had by all. Matt was very encouraging and explained techniques clearly."
