What else could I possibly post but the old girl herself? ❤❤
I bought her straight from british waterways, who'd inherited her from the Birmingham Canal Company at nationalisation, so despite being nearly 150, I'm only her 3rd owner!

I'm not sure it's a favourite, but I'm certainly where pleased with it! My first blue and white design based off patterns on pottery shards I've found around the wharf 😊 watch this space for postcards!

**3 things**
The canals are rich in tradition, but tradition can easily go stagnant when you get too het up about replication of an original! I started combining my graffiti style to roses and castles some time ago, and the can on right I was absolutely delighted to be let loose on with a guide word of "rubber ducks" 😀 😄

**Planning**
It may come as a surprise to anyone who's met me that I am actually a great one for planning. Thats right, for the most part I have actively planned to be tapdancing on quicksand 🤣
Jokes aside, I have to be a planner, both practically for running the boats and the family but also because it helps me keep my anxiety under control. Plan for every eventuality and nothing is a nasty surprise 😊

Being on a boat, a big thing for me is low (or zero) road miles and supporting water freight. I'm a big bee fan so when it comes to making things like soap and paper, everything has to be bee friendly! Recycling is my other passion. In the photo, to the left you see the family boat behind the 4 bottom boards i replaced last year- these are going to become part of a shop counter for our wharf, but the offcuts will also have a use, becoming anything from decorative mice to rolling pins!

I'm Kez, better known as Chaffy, and I run Patchwork Butty, a shop full of things I've made on board my boat. I generally have a crochet hook in one hand and the tiller in the other, and when the boats aren't moving I make other Exciting Things. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that my memory sucks (take this challenge, if someone else hadn't posted it first I'd have completely missed it 😅) so you may well find me spamming your feed with pretty things when I realise I need to catch up 😂

We're with Independent Wirral at Woodside Ferry today with our first ever Christmas Market!

A wide variety of soaps, shampoo bars and toiletries are up on the shop to suit all skin types. There's even a doggo-friendly shampoo bar, which, thanks to our own adventurous little hound, we can vouch is man enough to tackle fresh fox poo!
