As we gather to celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, may I extend on behalf of the Essex Council of Mosques, my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. May this blessed festival of Eid-ul-Adha bring abundant blessings, happiness, and peace into your lives.

Eid-ul-Adha is a time of reflection, gratitude, and sacrifice. It reminds us of the profound act of devotion and obedience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, as he was willing to sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah's ﷻ command. It teaches us the values of selflessness, compassion, and the importance of surrendering to the will of the Almighty ﷻ.

On this auspicious day, let us emulate the spirit of sacrifice by offering our prayers, performing acts of charity, and reaching out to those in need. Let us remember the less fortunate and extend a helping hand, spreading love and joy in our communities.

Eid-ul-Adha is also a time for family and friends to come together, to share delicious meals, exchange heartfelt greetings, and strengthen the bonds of love and unity. May this day be filled with laughter, warmth, and treasured moments with your dear ones.

As we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, let us not forget to express our gratitude for the countless blessings in our lives to Allah ﷻ. May Allah ﷻ accept our prayers, sacrifices, and good deeds, and may He shower His mercy and blessings upon us and the entire Ummah Ameen.

When Rajab began, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Oh Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha‘baan, and let us reach Ramadan.”
(Mishkat al-Masabih 1369)

Sayyiduna Suhayb رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Wondrous is the affair of a believer, as there is good for him in every situation; this is not the case for anyone but a believer. If he experiences pleasure, he thanks Allah and it is good for him. If he experiences distress, he shows patience and it is good for him.”
(Sahih Muslim 2999)
