It’s due to get pretty chilly tonight and I’m really hoping I don’t see a frost at the field. I’m not ready to say bye bye to the flowers for this year especially with more of you signing up to a subscription over the last month.
I’ve tucked the dahlia up, not sure it’ll do much good but makes me feel like I’ve tried!
I thought the colourful arrangements for M & H’s wedding at the end of August deserve a square of their very own. A beautiful venue, The Unicorn Theatre
Dahlia, zinnia, cosmos and many more.
Thank you to for your help with this.
Just a few of the lovely flowers in the field right now.
Those pretty pale sunflowers are super summery.
The first of the dahlias are starting to bloom which shows we are moving into late summer however it feels like summers just beginning!
The achillea adds a lovely freshness to bouquets and the burgundy scabiosa I just love!
It’s the start of the summer holidays in my house, so I’ll have a little helper around and be doing the usual juggling of flowers and summer fun!
Enjoy!
The Sweet peas are great this year. They are a cut and come again so they need picking regularly to keep blooming.
So why not come and PYO and keep them coming!
The bridal bouquet from E&O’s wedding at the end of June. The dreamy blue colour palette of the bouquet contained larkspur, scabious, sweet Williams, campanula, sweet peas and cornflower to name a few.
What my Friday looks like - creating your beautiful bouquets from my own grown flowers and delivering them to your door.
As it’s British Flowers Week I’m sharing some pictures of some flowers I delivered this morning for a special birthday party. They are the perfect example of British flowers at their best. With Peonies, roses and sweet peas giving lovely scent and totally seasonal.
But why choose British Flowers?
British Flowers have a much lower carbon footprint. If sustainability is important to you then choose British grown flowers. Or even better locally grown flowers from a flower grower close to you.
Gorgeous scent - the chemicals used with imported flowers means often the scent has gone by the time they reach you. Locally grown flowers have all the lovely perfume you expect from fresh flowers.
No chemicals - my flowers are grown with no chemicals or pesticides and following organic principles. I’m also on the journey to being certified organic by the Soil Association so you’ll be completely certain of this very soon.
Lastly, whether it’s a bouquet, a simple bunch or an arrangement for your special occasion, you can guarantee natural looking beautiful flowers in gorgeous colours and some unusual varieties.
A beautiful bowl of spring flowers.
Iris, aquilegia, roses, allium, anemone, sweet peas, Orlaya, hesperis and agrostemma.
Memorial birthday flowers, such an honour to be asked to create this with my own grown flowers.
This week has been all about dahlias. Not in bloom but planting them out. It’s quite a job but worth it for the abundance and variety of beautiful flowers from late summer through to the first frosts.
Just a snippet of some from last year.
I dropped these pretty bunches of seasonal flowers at Garlands in Pangbourne this morning.
