bee.brodie
I am an artist working at bee.brodie.art, based in Wiltshire. I studied metalwork at Bath College & Sculpture at Bath Spa University.
Mainly an abstract painter I work in all mediums & textures. My work is
mostly inspired by the Cornish landscape.
First day of the Hope Springs Exhibition. I was pleased to be surrounded by some great artists and it was lovely to engage with lots of visitors who were so interested in my work and process. Happy days!🐝
First day of our show - lots of fun putting up the work. I was blown away with people’s comments about my work 🐝💕
Hope Sping's exhibition is open today from 3pm! Come before 6pm to have a look around.
I have just come back from my wonderful framers, Melton, in Bath, with this 25.5cm x 23.5cm mixed media painting. I am SO pleased with the finished work which will be exhibited with my other paintings on the 5th April. 🐝
‘Dreaming of St Ives’; framed oil and ink on board.
Yesterday I quickly popped into a well known and respected gallery in Bath, just to buy some gorgeous earrings, and just chatted to the lovely owner about my being an artist and sculptor. He went straight to my website and said he loved my work, in particular this piece. Who knows what is around the corner!! One can dream🐝
I’ve really enjoyed playing with collage paper and ink today. Working again in an A5 concertina sketchbook I felt this page was nicely balanced. Perhaps it was because I was listening to James Taylor all day too - Happy Days!🐝
When I am an old painter, I shall wear purple, with an abstract red mark on a canvas which doesn’t go and doesn’t suit the theme. And I shall spend my money on oil paints and brushes and Fabriano paper. But maybe I ought to practice a little now, so painters who know me are not too shocked when suddenly I am old and start to wear purple🐝
I saw this gorgeous paving slab! I will be starting a new series on texture, using different patterns. Let me know if any of you lovely peeps share my love of paving slabs and walls😉🐝
This is Laura, a 6”x 6” sculpture I made out of buff clay in between painting. She was finally finished and I collected her from the foundry yesterday. She was cast by the brilliant team at Art of a Fine Nature in Shepton Mallet. She is cast in bronze and is the first in a series of nine. I am super excited to see what happens next and I feel on top of the world. 🐝
I loved making this 8” x 8” little mixed media study on Fabriano.
This piece is in homage to Tapies, the fantastic Spanish artist. His colour palette is different from mine but this work is very textural comprising sand, plaster, rubber and paint. It was fun just playing and remembering happy time in Barcelona! 🐝
Having had an exhibition which was full on, I rested for two months and then decided to work on another series. I absolutely love the work of Tapies, and this textured painting using grog, lace, acrylic and inks is inspired by him.
I had such fun playing with shapes and forms. This painting is part of my St Ives series and when it was finally finished it was included in a show a couple of months ago.
Wire attached to a fabric-covered canvas. 30” x 30”.
What a wonderful chap🐝
Some people are poor, but rich by heart.
Gosh, I just found this photo of me working on a n**e study. I then went on to study sculpture at Bath university as a mature student. Where have those years’ gone🐝🙈
Hello lovely peeps! It’s the weekend at last and I am pooped! This little 30.5cm square canvas is the second in my series of Tapies’ inspired work. I have loved using all sorts of tools to shape the texture and mark-make I have fond memories of walking through La Rambla and the Gothic areas. Happy memories indeed🐝
After having a small break following the busy Art Trail, which I’m pleased to say went well, I just felt like playing around using inks and mark-making to get me in the groove again!! Happy days! 🐝
This little Bronze I made a while ago is part of my exhibiting on The Cloth Roads Art Trail in Bratton Wiltshire. I have had such an amazing response. 🐝
This little head and shoulder study I made a little while ago, is included in The Cloth Roads Art Trail which is in Venue 3 in Bratton, Wiltshire. I have been thrilled with the response from visitors. 🐝
After two long years of preparing for my local Cloth Roads Art Trail, I had my first Private View today. I was on Cloud 9 for most of the day and actually sold quite a few pieces of work. The art trail runs from 30th April to 8th May; I am in Bratton, Wiltshire. Look out for the signs; I will only be closed on the Tuesday. 🐝. The photo below was taken just before people arrived today🐝.
Come on Liverpoooool 🐝 x
Phew!! These two little collages, which are part of a series, are ready for the art trail, which is coming around SO SO quickly🙈. 🐝
Just a reminder that I am taking part in the Art Trail with Sue Cooke a fellow artist. We shall be exhibiting in my house in Bratton, near Westbury at 18 Ethendun, BA13 4RX. There will be a variety of interesting work and you are most welcome to pop in; we would love to see you.
Look out for the Cloth Roads brochures and leaflets which you will be able to pick up from shops, libraries, bookshops and other public places🐝
This 8” x 8” framed acrylic and ink study is ready for the cloth Roads Art Trail in May. I was inspired by the harbour at Coverack and enjoyed the texture, colours and the atmosphere of the harbour.

Phew! I’m almost there, having prepared work for my local Art trail. This little 8”x 8” framed work on paper is, as Stevie Wonder once sang,
signed, sealed and ……..
waiting to be delivered! I think I need a holiday!🐝
Ive been working towards my Art Trail which is only a few weeks away. Today I collected the last four paintings from my wonderful framer . This particular painting was a tribute to Antoni Tapies whose work was, and still remains, full of emotion as he endured the Spanish Civil war, during which he taught himself to draw and paint. I hope you like it 🐝
