A lovely online Yoga session with Paul Fox yesterday morning. Paul reminded us that Yoga is the ideal practice for the current situation. Physically, ideal for self isolation and for boosting the immune system; breathing practices for respiratory resilience and the whole mindful approach helping us to be calm and stress free during the present challenges. Perfect! How does anyone manage without it?
A huge thank you to all my lovely supportive Yoga students who were a part of my first foray into online Yoga this morning! You made it such a success! The Patanjali reference was Ch I v34 - and the reading was from Life after Death by Deepak Chopra.
Welcome to vonnieyoga! I'm aiming to share Patanjali inspired Yoga tips to progress your practice. It's so important to keep up with our practice at the moment, in these challenging times. Very often when we talk about whether or not we have "done" our Yoga today we are talking about the physical - asanas. We talk about spending time on meditation as a separate thing and breathing practices possibly don't get talked about at all. If we look at Patanjali we see the whole. Our Yoga practice IS asana (postures), pranayama (breathing) and dhyana (meditation). (steps 3,4 and 7). We should also be practising 1 and 2 as well! But that's for another post/s!
