Today is World Kindness Day.
Be kind to yourself and be kind to others as well.
Today marks the day when 13 years ago, German goalkeeper Robert Enke took his own life after battling depression for years.
Thirteen years ago today, Robert Enke told his wife he was leaving for training. His team Hannover 96, had no training that day.
Instead, he drove around in his car for eight hours and committed su***de by stepping in front of an express train.
He gave us the everlasting lesson that mental health issues can affect everyone and should not be taken lightly.

ποΈ ππ§ππ«ππ¬ ππ§π’ππ¬ππ β "When I was struggling with depression, my most enjoyable part of the day was when I took my pill and went to sleep at night. You lose joy from life, from everything. I hugged my wife, but it felt like hugging a pillow. You feel nothing.
I am still going to therapy, as I need to be at peace with myself. I like to listen to professionals talk about mental health and depression. You tell yourself: This is not me. It's your body, but you have no life, no joy, and no energy.
Eventually, life teaches you that depression and mental health can affect anyone. It's not about material things. I could have had all the cars in the world and everything I wanted, and it still hard to face life's problems. You need to train your brain! ππ
