That’s a wrap for HAF 2024 πŸπŸ™ŒπŸ

Today marks the end of our Summer club!

15 days of care, food, activities and social time delivered and completed over the last 4 weeks

Next week I total up the numbers and figures, send off the registers, and will be in touch with everyone that attended to kindly ask if we can get a written testimonial / review and ensure you have the links to provide feedback directly to ESCC - This will help enable us to hopefully stand a chance to get the scheme offered again for 2025!

If you are happy to do this please pop it to me as a PDF via email to [email protected]

I cannot apologise enough for not being there for the last day today
I know some are sad I am not there today to say bye so I do apologise!

Thank you to those that have messaged me you are so kind πŸ™

A huge thank you to all our wonderful clients old and new that have made HAF another sell out club for 2024. Your children are awesome! Your level of clear communication and understanding of our policies has meant we had only a few no shows this year and only a few spaces were not utilised.
So thank you for respecting our policies and procedures it means we can and have maximised the numbers πŸ‘

We have had a blast the last four weeks - 12357863235632 loom band creations, cake decorating, aqua beads, hama beads, shrink art, discussions, friendship making, pool, darts, football, watercolour painting, drawing, stickers, glitter tattoes, chess, O and X’s, Boxes, card games, uno, Lego, bracelet making, cricket, rounders, badminton, air dry clay, play doh… oooh it’s been amazing!

Thank you πŸ™ πŸπŸ‘

Thank you to all of the staff, teens and volunteers that have helped at club and behind the scenes!

Your efforts and dedication are gratefully received and appreciated and you all deserve a rest and a lovely break ❀️🐝❀️

Please note: We are now closed until September for a well deserved summer break and to take some time to make some changes and do some restructuring within the Hive and it’s offering.

We hope you all have the best end to the summer holidays and I look forward to reopening in September - keep your eyes peeled for changes and will see all our HAF clients in December for Xmas HAF club and Panto!

See you all soon

Tuesday 13th - NO HAF / CANCELLED SESSION

APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE AND SHORT NOTICE

Please accept my apologies but I have just sent out a cancellation email to everyone booked for Tuesday 13th August HAF club session on the EEQU system.

Sadly due to issues out of my control the session tomorrow has to be cancelled.

In the three years of running HAF this is the first time we have had to cancel a session.

I apologise in advance - we feel very deflated to have to let people down but we pride ourselves on our work, reputation and safeguarding the children is paramount for us over anything and ensuring needs can be met is priority. If I feel this can not be met I will not run the risk of opening as a universal SEND club with a variety of needs.

We will be back for the last two days on Wednesday and Thursday but please accept my apologies and i appreciate your kindness and understanding during a situation we cannot control.

Thank you πŸ™

Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this Easter HAF

Well done to all the children that attended I know it was a huge struggle for some and lots of nerves and anxiety that eased fast and they all did very well. They should all be very proud of themselves.

Please please please take a moment to fill out these forms below there is a Parent option and two different forms for the children’s feedback depending on age.

It’s is vital these are completed by as many attendees and children as possible as this will help us to make a better bid for next years funding and shows the service is used and appreciated if you would like us to deliver this again next year we need your input to help.

Thank you to Jolande and Hannah and to our lovely extra helpers this year Emma, Jem and Charlie for helping deliver it for another year.

Look out for SUMMER HAF when it goes Live.

If anyone would like extra spaces that couldn’t get them at Easter club these are available for this week at the moment πŸ™πŸ

6 no shows today at day 1 HAF Club

That’s 6 meals that could have fed other children
6 lots of respite care wasted for parents that could have accessed it
6 lots of resources wasted and unused

Although we are very understanding and accommodating with most things we cannot have that level of spaces wasted it’s really unfair on those that can’t get a space that want to come and will turn up. Especially parents that need these spaces for work or respite care.

If you do not turn up and do not message us via the same system you book onto, the email that you receive when you book or the number that is on the email then we will cancel your spaces as we have a long waiting list and will not waste food, spaces or respite care for Parents as it affects us next year for the funding as well.

Although they are FREE spaces to you to book as a business it really affects us and the future of our clubs if people just don’t turn up or free up the spaces for others

There is a lot of work that goes into making it happen and the lack of communication from those that don’t turn up has a knock on effect for us next year getting the funding.

All we ask is you cancel or let us know. We totally get it things happen and circumstances change and that’s perfectly ok.
Just let us know please πŸ™

If it continues we will drop the numbers back down to only those we know that will attend next year and won’t take new clients on for these clubs as we cannot afford to cater for so much waste or loss.

A few spaces for this week have become available for the HAF Easter Club due to illness if you would like a space follow the link below

https://eequ.org/experience/3069

Grateful to those that cancelled the spaces so we can offer them out

As much as we love to share ;)

We prefer not to share germs and bugs especially during busy club days, so thank you to those that have let us know and we kindly ask please do not send your children to group if they have or have had a temperature within 48 hours before a session or if they have any other symptoms of illness or sickness.

If they do become unwell please cancel the space as it means they don’t go to waste and more are provided to children locally and helps us to fill the spaces to ensure we can run it each year.

That’s a wrap for another term of home ed, creative bees and AQA sessions.

We had a lovely last day with a special visit from a local PCSO and a PC who talked all about the different equipment they use and why
Some amazing questions from our children young people! Then we got to beep the horn and hear all the different sirens they have and what they are for and why!

We missed everyone that couldn’t make today, they have assured us they will pop back next term to see us again to meet more bees 🐝

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter break with your loved ones

We look forward to seeing all our home ed bees next term and to all our HAF Easter Club Bees we will see you on Tuesday for four days of fun, games and creating πŸ₯³πŸπŸ₯³

We do still have a few paid spaces available here at Β£20 per day lunch included and snacks m.

A Huge thank you to everyone that has emailed about volunteer roles with us on a Tuesday and Thursday during term time.

We have had more interest than we thought which is fab and would love to get as many involved as we can so we will be replying to emails and looking to book you in to come and have a little informal chat and see the group in action and meet the Bees 🐝

We are also looking for someone that would be available to help work 4 days this half term at our HAF Easter Club 2/3/4/5 April
Must be available from 9:15am-2:45pm

If you are interested and can make these 4 days please email us with HAF Work as your reference to

Thank you to all our lovely bees today that attended home ed bees

Another great session for our home educators this morning we covered some maths and english, we also did a little visual activity all about positivity and negativity using water and mud, some fab creations made with their own ideas and imaginations today aswell.

More social interaction and skills taken and learnt and a mass of laughter and support among a group of children all with different needs and abilities

Then we spent the afternoon at Creative bees making Easter creations, building Lego and playing some games to finish to get some energy burnt off!

Back on Thursday for more home ed bees and our AQA bees to continue working towards their group and individual awards.

Some of them are getting pretty good at this Tetris balance - can you see the logic in this display?

A fab regulation tool and distraction for many of our neurodivergent bees

Wow that’s some fast bookings

We have over 88 spaces available over four days and atm it looks like it sold out and only went live at 8am!

Please bare with me I am one person with over 140 emails, bookings and enquiries to address this week without the usual sessions and work we have weekly with clients.

Thank you to anyone that has also emailed regarding our volunteer positions
We will leave it open until Friday and will be in contact next week to arrange meetings / informal chats

Thank you for your continued support and helping us to sell out these clubs and offer spaces to children and young people as well as the respite for Parents that is so needed.

You are amazing and we Will keep updates coming for spaces and bookings that become available once we have had all the eligibility back from the council πŸ™πŸπŸ˜β€οΈ

Hive Easter Club - Free Funded Spaces with Hastings Community Hive Β· Eequ 11/03/2024

Easter Club is now live to book
2/3/4/5 April
9:30am - 2:30pm - lunch included

Free funded spaces for children in receipt of free school meals and or SEND children that are happy to stay alone at the drop off sessions and these can be booked here using the link below

https://eequ.org/experience/3069

We also have Paid spaces available for those not entitled to free spaces at Β£20 per day can be booked here and also include lunch
www.bookwhen.com/hastingscommunityhive

Children can bring a packed lunch if they prefer.

Priority goes to those that can attend all four days and those that we have that return to the sessions every year

We do not authorise anything until the council have so please bare with us as it can take 24/48 hours for eligibility to be confirmed by them.

Please only book the sessions if you are going to turn up and use them as we are stricter on no shows and have the full support of the council to accept or decline bookings based on previous no shows as so many spaces have gone to waste due to people booking and not turning up
This takes a space and a meal from a child that may really rely on us for it.

So please be sure you want the space before you book so we can ensure we can support and offer a meal to as many as we can.

Spaces are limited and once they have gone they have gone and we also cannot save anyone any spaces or guarantee anything we wish we could!

We are looking for some extra lovely volunteers that would like to gain experience in the childcare and education sector that are available to volunteer on a Tuesday and or Thursday 9.30-1.30 each week during term time to help assist our learners at sessions and the team with in house activities and opportunities.

This will start off as a volunteer role but could end up being a permanent paid role for someone as we are expanding this year but for now we are just looking to add a couple of volunteers that would like to gain some qualifications and experience whilst volunteering with us.

May suit someone that has some free hours or someone looking to get back into work but has no childcare qualifications. Doesn’t have to be both days could be split between a few volunteers that can commit to set days or alternated

We just need some more reliable team members to help us expand to help more children and young people.

If you are interested in getting involved please email the address below with a little bit about yourself and any experience you may have had, days you can commit too and why you would like to join the Hive and we will get back to you
