I have reported this and the other potholes on Thoresby Road, Long Eaton to - seems like Thoresby is in a much worse state than Wilsthorpe Road which they are going to close to top dress for up to 10 days between April and September.
Sheffield to London 'faster' by going through and stopping at Worksop, Retford and Woodhouse. An example of ways the curtent network can be used to deliver better and sooner than HS2.
FirstGroup applies to run new 'faster' direct train from Sheffield to London passing through Worksop and Retford A train operator wants to run a new, "faster" direct train service from Sheffield to London – calling at Worksop and Retford.
A massive night of by-election victories across the south last night. Come the next general electiom the Liberal Democrats will be back as a force to be reckoned with and will deliver a fair deal for everyone.
Ammount needed to fix potholes £14bn amount allocated by this government £5bn. This suggestion from the LGA is only a sticking plaster though and could be seen as very unfair as fuel duty is paid by petrol and diesel drivers only and heavier EVs cause more wear on roads.
Increase fuel duty to repair potholes - councils UK spending cuts on pothole repair are among the most severe out of 13 major nations, local councils say.
A contract should be for a fixed price and not subject to a price hike halfway through. If this means the providers can only offer 12 month contracts then this actually makes the market more transparent and effective.

I admire Dale because he really does pursue the change he wants to see in the world. It's a shame the service is initially going to run on kerosine but I hope the conversion to hydrogen is a success. If this and other ventures to decarbonise short haul flights do work it adds further weight to the environmental argument against HS2 though.

Thank you to the person who sent me and the rest of the Wilsthorpe team this note during the election campaign. It really helped motivate us to try and get that win. Sorry we didn't quite get there this time but the hard work will go on.
I am delighted to have been elected unopposed to Sawley Parish council. The disappointment of missing out by 110 votes on being elected to the Borough Council for Wilsthorpe will not stop me campaigning and working hard for both Wilsthorpe and Sawley.

Facebook needs a scared button rather than like for memes like this. On a serious note many people including me are worried about how they are going to balance their budgets this winter and many less fortunate who can't borrow more or rely on savings to get through this are worried about having to chose between heating and eating.
Water bills in Erewash to go up despite Severn Trent's apparent poor performance on keeping sewage out of our rivers and streams. Angry does begin to describe my feelings on this.
Water firms to cut customer bills by millions after missing targets The utility companies have been fined for missing targets in areas such as water supply interruptions, pollution incidents and internal sewer flooding.
Shop local, goes without saying, if you can afford it and many if not most can't. May be if the Conservatives nationally hadn't abandoned farmers then they would be struggling to stay in business in an economic climate where the cost of the food they produce has gone up.
Our Council Leader Councillor Barry Lewis explains why it’s so important to show our support for local farmers, producers and traders, and shop locally if we can https://crowd.in/h2AEM9
This was one of the risks of Brexit, highlighted at the time. That the Tories would use the control they had taken back to get rid of workers rights and protections. It is ironic that Liz Truss, a former Lib Dem, who voted remain, might be the one to unleash the full horror of Brexit?
Truss vows to scrap remaining EU laws by end of 2023 risking ‘bonfire of rights’ Scale and complexity of task would be difficult in context of civil service cuts, say experts
She was part of his cabinet she must have known what was going on.

This goverment does not learn from its mistakes. It scrapped the subsidies for solar panels too early collapsing the market and exacerbating the current energy crisis. It is now intent on slowing the EV market during a what is essentially a fuel crisis.
Electric car grant scheme axed by government sends ‘wrong message’ The Department for Transport (DfT) has announced the closure of the grant scheme for electric cars, claiming that a “mature market” has already been created.
Something needs to be done to break the culture that it's okay to flood onto the pitch at the last home game of a successful season or after a particulary big cup win. I think it stems from the idea that they "can't arrest us all" as fans know it is illegal to enter the playing area. This could be facial recognition technology coupled with club imposed fines which could become part of the Terms and Conditions people sign up to when they buy a ticket. Clubs could also require photos on season cards to aid inforcement. But please don't punish those of us who don't encroach onto the pitch and wait patiently in the stands for the crowd on the pitch to disperse in the hope the team will come back out for a lap of honour, with stadium closures.
EFL Statement: Crowd Behaviour Unfortunately, at recent end-of season and Play-Off semi-final fixtures we have witnessed a number of unsavoury and unacceptable incidents take place with supporters entering the field of play.
Sad news.
This is the hardest statement to write. It is with great shock and disbelief that we announce that Sylvia Lancaster has passed away. She died early this morning in Blackburn hospital. She had suffered from ill health for the last couple of years, but her death was sudden and unexpected. Sylvia had such a powerful life force; we cannot imagine a world without her in it.
Following Sophie’s brutal murder, Sylvia put her energy into championing people from alternative subcultures and creating educational programmes to tackle prejudice and intolerance. She worked tirelessly to combat the inaccurate and lazy stereotyping that all too often leads to violent prejudice and promoted a culture of celebrating difference; something that leads to safer communities for us all.
Sylvia was formidable. She challenged authority and fought for what she believed in. Her legacy is that Sophie will never be forgotten, and her daughter’s name will always represent her mission – to Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere.
She will be sadly missed.
There will be much to say over the course of the next few months. Initially all our thoughts are focused on supporting Adam and his family in the coming days and weeks. Hold those you love a little bit closer today.
We are finishing for the last time using Sylvia’s sign off.
Love and Light,
The Sophie Lancaster Foundation Team
