So, why then do I focus so often on what is wrong with me?

Pink Cloud Syndrome was first coined by Alcoholics Anonymous but is actually quite a common phenomenon when it comes to behaviour change. It describes the sudden euphoric highs as you begin to feel better and notch up some successes as a result of the change.

For many people happiness might previously have been suppressed by alcohol, so these feelings can be particularly intense. The feeling might be one of β€œlife is wonderful”, or β€œI can do anything”, or β€œquitting drinking was easy, what was all the fuss about?”. Some say that this lasts only a few months, some for a year or two, and others don’t even recall feeling it at all.

After over 13 years of continuous sobriety I can honestly say that it is only the last few W E E K S
where I have actually learned how to work a 12 STEP program!! Clearly, I was doing something as I have stayed sober but I now know how to...

I have recently relocated to Cirencester and have been made SO welcome by everyone who has crossed my path, so THANK YOU 😘

Today, I had a 'pop up' stand at the Cornhall Indoor Market and I want to thank everyone who took the time to listen to me banging on about Orphaned Orangutans in my plea for sponsorship. I am trekking from Mt Kinabalu to Sepilok, Borneo this October and we raised over a whopping Β£150+ !!

Many of the visitors were alsp interested in learning more about the vegan skincare range I was showcasing, (I literally had my entire bathroom contents on display) I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my love for Tropic. 😁

If you are in the town tomorrow please do pop in and say 'hi' and if you can spare any money, however small, for this amazing cause 'Orangutan Appeal UK' and in return I will serve you one of my freshly made juices, bursting with natural vitamins and minerals our bodies need and use...

What's not to like? 😁

Our World 🌎 is made up of a variety of different colours and even different shades in EVERY colour too...so why do I choose to only see B&W on a negative day?

NO! We have a myriad of colours, shades and textures from which to choose...

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting my local gym at SLM Everyone Active, Cirencester as I encouraged my friend and neighbour Vic to join me...Vic has not been to the gym for a month so I devised a full body session for us to do together...LOVED IT! πŸ˜πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

Once home I cooked a delicious GOUSTO meal of "Meat Free Chicken Teriyaki with sticky rice"

For me, historically this is the time of year when a bout of depression would begin to rear its ugly 'black dog' head however as I have put certain things in place, taken action around a personal situation, taken my medication daily and diligently and continued to stretch and exercise
D A I L Y plus stepped up my nutrition quality and gone to bed earlier...and GOT rid of an actual TV πŸ“Ί I feel surprisingly 'chipper'...

We saw lots of Jonathans (Livingston Seagulls) and drank hot coffee β˜•, Grace enjoyed an ice cream..🍦brrrrrrr!! I had some 🍟 chips...and as we walked home we played "I spy..." πŸ‘πŸ€˜

It really is the little things in life and spending quality time with R E A L friends that make the difference to my day. I feel blessed to have friends like Anna still in my life after many years.. and to watch her daughter growing up is a gift...Still can't believe I am 11 years Anna's senior though! FFS!! πŸ˜±πŸ˜‰πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜˜

If you look closely at the photo of Anna in thr CafΓ© you can see the couple behind us on a date...but they are BOTH engrossed in their phones...SO sad when I see that...snapping a photo to capture a memory is one thing, to be sat in silence playing on your phones is another...πŸ˜ͺ

Even when the rain falls I like to get out into the fresh air and get my

When I think about the rainfall, instead of moaning, I appreciate how lucky we are...during my teenage years in the 80's I watched hours of footage about starving people of the Globe in very hot countries where rain 🌧 had stopped falling leading to starvation and many associated illness resulting in mass death.

Rain has numerous implications for the environment, notably replenishing wild vegetation, moistening the air, forming streams and rivers, refilling the water table, and creating extremely beneficial negative ions. The redistribution of clean, fresh water in the water cycle is by far the most significant benefit of rainfall.

L A D Y M IS BACK AT IT!

After enjoying every single mouthful of food over the last few days I am now back at it...reigning in the greed, carb, sugar and salt foods. Enough is enough.

The last 6 months have been challenging and instead of drinking alcohol, using substances or fixing on other things I chose to E A T away the feelings...the R E S U L T is a calmer mind, a focused attitude B U T a somewhat larger body...

So, if like me, you too have over-indulged then join me on a journey to a healthier M E.

I met with my energising bunny kinda PT for a strengthening sesh before loading up on protein for mid morning then I heading to Matlock Bath for a face to face with my "online guru..." for a measure up and check in...

This is exactly how I felt after the amount of delicious food I managed to consume... why are WE sooooooo greedy at times?

Personally, I have used food to temporarily fix sad or bad feelings and this has definitely been the case over the last year whilst my mind and body were shutting down to "tell me" I needed to take action and make changes yet I was not used to the language my body spoke in until recently so I continued to binge eat carb rich and sugar filled foods at all times of the nightπŸŒ™ .

Yesterday however was a conscious decision to enjoy a large quantity of the delicious Caribbean foods that had been lovingly prepared by others... I paid the price though! I couldn't bend in the middle! πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ

I am back to training tomorrow and as I begin a new chapter of my life I shall leave the binge eating and smoking 🚬 behind me and show my mind and body some R E S P E C T

Who else feels like this?

I know how important good quality sleep is for my mind and body however being perimenopausal and the hot weather combined I am having terrible trouble getting to sleep πŸ’€

I have found sone of the Sleepcasts available on the Headspace app to be brilliant at calming me and helping me to drift off so I definitely suggest trying that....

What tips do you have to help get to sleep πŸ’€πŸ˜΄ and to stay asleep? Please comment below....

Are you female and going through menopause or perimenopause? What symptons are you experiencing and what are you finding that helps symptoms? Really interested...

Woke up at 04.47am so I was on it and off we went to Brecons and climbed The Sugarloaf!!

Good prep for Borneo as I found it more difficult than I imagined as the climb was steep! Norman skipped up and I was envious of his 10kg frame tbh..

Woweeeee! What a day I have had...and it ended with a PoleFit 1:1 session...!

"By jove" I don't recall my inner thighs feeling sore 3 years ago! I must have gripped that pole pretty tight this time....Ha ha....

Nicky my incredibly talented teacher said I have great upper body πŸ’ͺ strength and that I did REALLY well...so, I feel chuffed, sore and fatigued but accomplished...

I shall continue the lessons as I want to improve my core strength and stability for my lower back to reduce the risk of injury as my lower back has given me problems over the years yet I am finding that I have made major improvements since training regularly and consistently.
