Fergus has decided to try and do an enterprise task to raise money for the school. 'I-train with Steph driving school' has kindly donated a cash prize of £50 to get him rolling....

His first idea is to do a lucky square..... all money raised will go towards his further projects. To allow the funds to get going....

Currently there is a few ideas....sweetie cones to sell at the school fete, hot chocolate cones... making some sort of confectionery but he needs to price up yet and decide what he can make.

All money will go towards a school project of their choosing... 😊👍

The aim of the association is to constantly improve upon the standards of coaching and instruction delivered to our learners.
We do this through continual professional development, sharing best practise and keeping up to date with effective approaches to training.
The HIDIA is a local association for your local driving instructors.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Big Learner Relay for children in need. Lou Walsh who tragically passed away suddenly this year started the relay and has lots of much needed funds for the wonderful charity. We want to make it extra special in her memory and to do her proud.

We are also doing a convoy route with other local instructors and hopefully a car heart formation 🥰❤

New initiative aimed at new drivers to reduce risk of accidents:

Highland and Islands Road Policing officers delivered a presentation under Police Scotland’s New Driver Scheme to the Highland Driver Instructor Association.

Officers delivered the initiative to 26 members at Smithton Hall, Inverness, on Tuesday, 25th April.

The initiative is aimed at young drivers who form part of the vulnerable road user group and are historically over-represented in crashes leading to death or serious injury.

The presentation is interactive and new drivers will be provided with a reminder of their responsibilities behind the wheel, not only for themselves but their passengers and everyone else on the road.

Constable Malcolm Cameron, from the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our intention is to influence the behaviours and attitudes of young drivers for the better. This initiative is hugely successful in delivering information in order to have young drivers think about how they drive. The input is hard-hitting and will inform drivers of the implications should they drive inappropriately.

Working in partnership with the Highland Driver Instructor Association capturing young drivers at this vital stage of learning how to drive is important to change the way young drivers view the dangers of driving and to influence their behaviour in an effort to reduce serious and fatal road crashes.”
