OK, so I have just enjoyed a relaxing two week holiday I admit 😎🏖🍹 (classes resume next week BTW) and I'm not even claiming I do everything cited in this blog, but yes, very few people seem to realise exactly how much effort goes into being a yoga teacher. It's not that I mind putting in so much effort as I love what I do, but just know that I don't sit on my backside between yoga classes wondering what to do with my life!!! 😄

Welcome to Spring 🌷 a time of balance when day and night are equal.
As the energy of Spring begins to emerge it's an ideal time to sow your own seeds of what you'd like to achieve over the coming months, taking wise actions from the heart.
But remember to maintain your life in balance between effort and relaxation. Let your intuition guide you and use your yoga to stay balanced, centred and grounded, allowing your body and mind the space they need to realign and heal as you open up to new possibilities.
THE 7 CHAKRAS
From the Sanskrit word meaning 'wheel', these 7 chakras are spinning energy centres acting as portals between our inner and outer worlds. Each chakra requires the right set up in order to function optimally and are said to correlate with different abilities, expressions and types of health.
In recent classes we have been working with the energetic channels or nadis; Ida, Pingali and Sushumna.

How to Clean Your Yoga Mat Honor your practice by cleaning and disinfecting your yoga mat. Plus, experts answer commonly asked questions.
In support of Men-Talk.Uk and Women-Talk.UK and in recognition of the need for more support for both men and women experiencing mental health issues, I will be offering a free monthly yoga class at The Head Health Hub - Community Interest Company in Sheerness beginning this Autumn.
Yoga provides a holistic approach to supporting your mental health and is just one of many useful tools you can add to your armour to help alleviate some of the symptoms of poor mental health, including anxiety, depression, fatigue and chronic pain among others.
These one hour sessions will incorporate mindful movement, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation, which can be practiced at home between sessions to improve your resilience and wellbeing.
These sessions will take place in Sheerness in a friendly and comfortable environment where acceptance and non-judgement will be the order of the day.
Spaces will be limited to 6 people initially and will need to be pre-booked. No previous yoga experience is required.

Ida and Pingali nadis are two of the main energetic channels within the body.
Ida relates to the left side and the feminine lunar energy, which is more introverted, soft and nurturing.
Pingali nadi relates to the right side and the masculine solar energy and is more extroverted, energetic and creative.
As with everything, life is a balance and the last two week's classes have centred around learning how to balance the nadis.
