Happy hump day!
Is everyone getting excited for the run up to Christmas? I have a few eco gifts in the basket already!
Happy Sunday!
Perfect day for a walk in the chilly air…
Happy Sunday! We are taking some time to collect ourselves and find focus for the week ahead. Always make sure you take time for yourself, trying to do to much all at once can leave you feeling burnt out. There is not way you can preform at your best if you feel tired or mentally strained.
You should never compare yourself with others, you are not them, you are not on their journey. Strive to be a better version of you and nothing else.
Skincare is self care! Why should self care be bad for the planet? Knowing your choices are having a positive impact on the planet only adds to the feel good vibes!
What are your favourite sustainable self care treatments?
We want to know your thought on this matter! Have you spent hours researching or do you have no idea?
This is an interesting topic and once I started looking into this I realised this is a much bigger discussion point than I initially thought.
Did you know “unscented” and “fragrance free” are not the same thing?
There are a lot of confusing and unclear terminology used within the beauty industry. As a consumer it is hard to navigate through all the technical information, at Eve’s choice we hope to shed a little light on these subjects and will be taking a deeper look into these terms and breaking them down into bite size posts on our blog!
Make sure you subscribe to the blog to keep up to date on your terminology!
Happy Friday!
Another week done and it’s time to slow down and relax! We want to know what your favourite products are for a bit of self care!
I don’t thing you can beat a good bath! Some nice scented candles, maybe a face mask… Maybe you like to snuggle up on the sofa with a good book, perhaps baking is your therapy or crafting! Whatever you like to do we want to know!
How can you start making sustainable changes in your home?
This is the question we asked ourselves at the start of our zero waste journey. We started by looking through the bin. There were several things we noticed firstly the majority of single use see plastic was used for containing liquids and secondly the majority were products used in the bathroom. Using this as a starting point it was obvious to make the biggest impact to our consumption of single use plastic we should focus on swapping items used in the bathroom first.
Instead of trying to eliminate all single use plastics at once start with a single product you use frequently, by gradually making swaps we can ensure we use up the products we have first and replace them@as needed. This also makes the process more affordable.
Share your favourite swaps and tips for living a more sustainable life. We love hearing your ideas and LOVE a top tip!
We have found so simple and easy swaps you can do to start making a difference to climate change.
Here are our top swaps…
1. Plastic toothbrush for a bamboo toothbrush.
2.single use cotton rounds for reusable rounds.
3. Bottled shampoo for shampoo bars
4. Bottled shower jell for soap bars
5. Spray cleaners for concentrated alternatives
6. Standard deodorant for a natural alternative.
Check out these brands and make a swap today!

What brands are you using? Let us know in the comments below!
Co Founder Victoria is sharing her skincare routine with us!
Night time (every night):
Cleansing bar - UpCircle, Chocolate & Charcoal, lathers beautifully and is just enough to clean the day off (I use only the bar when I have no makeup on which is most days for me)
Serum 1 - Face Theory, S5 Centasoothe Botanical Serum this does not smell nice! But it dose a fantastic job of calming my skin! I use it all over and let it soak in for a few minutes.
Serum 2 - Face Theory, S9 Azeclear A15 Serum I use this specifically for my so only apply it to affect areas it can sting a little but as it’s an acid that’s to be expected.
Moisturiser - Face Theory, M10 Relaxing Night Cream, lavender scented I do like this cream but it doesn’t impress me as much as the serums however due to £ (it’s super reasonably priced) I haven’t changed it yet.
Morning (when I have time/remember):
Quick rinse with a bamboo muslin and water (no soap).
Moisturiser: face theory M5 Amil c whip. Bergamont scented it can zing on the skin (that’s the vit-c) nice enough maybe a bit watery, again I’d like to change but it’s priced well and budget is tight.
This routine has improved my rosacea considerably over the last 12m.’

Happy Halloween!
This is such a lovely time of year, the leaves are changing, the mornings are crisp and frosty. It’s time for cosy nights cuddled up on the sofa with a good book or a nice film. It’s also the perfect time of year for stews and hearty cooking! How are you spending your all hallows Eve?

Having a dream is good, but to make your dream a reality it takes hard work and dedication. Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to start over. Try, then try again then keep trying until you make it. Never give up on your dreams, and never give up on yourself.
YOU CAN DO THIS!

Every single person makes a difference in this life. Individually we may only make a tiny difference but when we all work towards the same goal all those small efforts add up. Just because something is small doesn’t mean it’s not valuable…

What was your first swap?
Making small changes can have a much greater impact than we realise. One swap encourages another and another. It also inspires other people to swap.
Don’t you just love the feeling of inspiring a family member or friend to also use sustainable products!
We want to know what products you use in your morning routine!
Skincare is unique to you and your skin and we know from experience not all products work for everyone. We tend to stick to a particular product when we find one that works for us and changing brand can be scary. We want to find sustainable alternatives that work for you and for the planet!
It’s so important to slowdown and take a moment. Starting a new project, whatever it may be, will have its challenges, but with the right support, a bit of determination and old fashioned hard work we can achieve greatness.
Here at Eve’s choice we want to take a moment and thank everyone for the support we have received. For being welcomed into this community of sustainable hero’s and friends and family who are embracing a new way of thinking.
Let us know what you are thankful for, if not us make sure you let those people know they are appreciated!
Hey guys! We have another top swap for you. Today we are looking at kitchen cleaning products. Lots of cleaners come in plastic packaging making this another area we can reduced or remove waste completely. We have found loads of companies tackling this room of the house but we have two brands to share with you today.
First up we have we are loving the look and feel of this brand, but more than that we love the use of reusable and refillable packaging. We also love the efforts to reduce their carbon emissions, ethical supply chain and use of natural ingredients. This is a company we can really get behind!
Secondly we have offering a range of plastic free dishwashing sponges! Plastic comes in so many forms it’s easy to overlook some products. These natural sponges are an easy swap that would make a big difference if everyone did it!
Let us know what your top swaps are or if you have any brands you want to recommend we want to hear about them!
recycling
We are very shortsighted in our decision making as humans. We tend to not what what’s best for everyone but what is best for us right now. I truly believe the cure for most diseases will be found in the rainforests. Nature is amazing at keeping things balanced, but we keep pushing her to the edge. In the end she will win, when there are no more trees and the oceans are dead we will then also die out.
Making changes now will make a difference in our life time, we will benefit from our hard work but we just have to start now! I feel there is a definite change in the air, people do care and do want to make changes but we are not at the point yet where it is easy. Eve’s choice is here to change this. We are working to build a platform where consumers can go and choose goods that are sustainable, cruelty free and combating climate change. We need your help and support to do this.
Please go check out our website link in our bio, or just like or share a post.
Thanks
Eve
We would like to share our love of , another perfect example on how companies can help us reduce single use plastic consumption.
Wild have created a reusable deodorant applicator made from aluminium and deliver the refills straight to your door. Once empty the bamboo pulp refill case can be recycled with your paper or composted where they will rot away to nothing. Each refill saves 30 grams of plastic!
If you haven’t already go check them out!
As consumers we are blamed for using plastic and it’s down to us to recycle and reduce our consumption of it, but if products we need are wrapped is layer after layer of plastic there is only so much we can eliminate from our day to day lives. At Eve’s Choice we believe it should be companies making the big changes and reducing the amount of plastic they use. Big companies have the power to stop the use of plastic at the source and wee feel it is their moral responsibility to take action and do their part to make a difference.
Today we are thinking about the supply chain. One of the things we care about here at Eve’s choice is equality. Ensuring everyone in the supply chain is paid fairly means we can all make progress. Rather than exploiting cheap labour paying a fair wage means developing countries can also work towards more sustainable methods of farming, and production.
Today we want to think about swaps we can do now to make a difference! The easiest place to reduce plastic in the house is the bathroom! So many products used in the bathroom some in plastic! If you were to just take a look around your own bathroom you will definitely be able to make at least one change! One of our top swaps would be changing your plastic toothbrush to a bamboo brush. Replace shampoo with shampoo bars normal toilet paper with recycled paper. There are lots of little swaps we can make that will reduce the amount of plastic you use!
Today we want to share the love and promote an amazing business.
You have to go check this company out. The handmade soaps are not only stunning, but are vegan, palm free and zero waste! The label they come wrapped in is also biodegradable wild flower seeded labels. No I had never heard of it either! Once removed these labels can be planted and you get wild flowers which are amazing for bees and other insects! What a brilliant idea, every label should be a seeded label.
The soaps themselves look like a slice of the fanciest cake you could imagine and with a wide range of scents Including Sugar plum, coffee, wild bluebell and seashore choosing is difficult!
We absolutely love flamingo soaps co and think you will to!
Plastic is a real problem all over the world and one we need to address fairly urgently. 700 marine species have been affected by ocean plastic, 9 out of 10 sea birds, 1 in 3 sea turtles and more than half of whale and dolphin species have ingested plastic.
These are sad facts but there is hope! There are loads of charity’s working around the world trying to clean up the oceans and coastlines but what can we do as individuals to help?
Well firstly we can donate to these charities and support them financially but we can also help in other ways. By recycling we can ensure plastic isn’t going to land fill. I own 2 dogs so when I’m out walking i take an extra bag with me and if I see litter I pick it up and put it in my bin. I appreciate this is not the most glamorous activity but it can make a big difference. And finally don’t buy plastic. There are so many companies out there offering plastic free packaging it is becoming much easier as a consumer to avoid plastic all together!
Let us know what you have been doing to help reducing plastic waste. And if you want to do more below are a few charities helping to clean up our oceans!
