Easier said than done, granted, but it's important we role model the behaviour we want to see in them.
This is also easier said than done if you haven't had enough sleep yourself! Without enough sleep everything is harder, including emotion regulation - and that goes for adults and children alike.
Tell me what your number one barrier for sleep is (and don’t just say "the baby/ children"!) is and I’ll try to cover the areas in my 60 second sleep tips and posts.

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day and got thoroughly spoilt.
I had a lovely day but the irony of losing an hour on Mother’s Day wasn’t lost on me! 🙃
Remember, it takes a few days for the change in body clock to settle in so don’t worry if bedtime (and morning start) is still not settled in. Follow your routine to the new hour and it will soon stabilise.
Remember the Spring forward clock change is this weekend!
If you want to follow the 'gradual shift' approach you need to start tonight.
Good luck!
This is easier said than done sometimes. Especially when we are tired, busy or just feeling overwhelmed ourselves.
Parenting on a full battery will always make it easier. Make sure to give priority to yourself sometimes.

Here are 3 approaches you can take.
Despite the disturbance it will inevitably cause - the silver lining is that Spring is on its way! Bring on the sunshine!
Good luck and don't forget to tag a parent friend who might find this helpful.
This is particularly true for me right now with my littlest off school with Covid!
I also remember thinking something along these lines when it came to my girl’s naps. It always seemed they would wake up just as I'd finished doing whatever chore couldn't wait and had just sat down for a bit of rest and pop, eyes would be open!
They would be ready for the round two and I'd be thinking ‘noooo, not yet surely’!
Thankfully, with a bit of practice and knowhow I was able to get them into predictable naps and knew what to do if they did wake up a little earlier than expected (and what they needed).
If you’d like to help with your one’s naps, please drop me a DM or head over to my website for a free download on helping your little one to sleep.
There will be good days and not so good days when parenting, and it’s OK to talk about both aspects. It doesn’t help anyone to pretend it’s always rainbows and unicorns.
And if you ever feel stuck or need help along the way, it’s always the right answer to reach out to your support system, your doctor or other professional.
Let me know if there is anything I can help you with for your child's sleep. My DM is always open.
