⭐️ New colours/ glazes of my Dandelion Mugs and I’ve actually uploaded them to the website at last, whoop whoop!🙌

If there’s a particular colour you’d like, that you can’t see, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do! It’s lovely seeing how you build your collections, whether it’s pinks and oranges or all greens and blues…

House building is extremely busy, we have parted ways with our builder, the last couple of weeks have been a bit of a nightmare with him letting us down on deadlines and just some really shoddy work.

Anyway, onwards and upwards we have already made new plans, people stepping in and new deals done. It’s a sad thing but reality, that however important we think we are we are always replaceable 😬. Note to self!! 😂

The vibe was definitely a little different today, more of a chilled holiday mood rather than the excited bustling mood of previous markets but still a good day.

A few new colour combos came out of the kiln last night, let me know what you think..🤔 Do you have a favourite?

Plus I was joined by the most beautiful Dragonfly.

It must be a good sign when nature comes to look at your mugs 😂.

Now back to the Olympics, it’s just so good!

Wow it seems like ages since I’ve posted anything 🤷🏼. Probably because it has been!! 😂

Mainly because this house build is incredibly stressful and so time consuming. Feels like we are making progress and if you fancy following along you can catch up

As for these lyrics, this song literally sums me up at the moment 😂.

My littlest sister also got married last week, a dinner with close family and friends and then her own little mini festival with about 250 people.

It really was great fun, the weather was amazing and so so good to catch up with people I’d not seen for ages.

Anyway I just wanted to say that I will be at The Frome Independent Market again on Sunday and the weather is looking good so see you there.

I’ve just managed to get a few more Dandelion Mugs in the kiln tonight in preparation, phew, stocks had definitely got low on the blues and greens…

A recent Collection I have produced and now in their new home in Scotland. Such a great combo of colourful mugs covering all tea and coffee mugs.

Despite some heavy showers we had another great day at The Frome Independent Market.

The brolly was a savour and luckily ceramics are waterproof! 😂.

It’s sooo amazing having people come back month after month either introducing someone else to my ceramics or buying a gift for a person having received one last month.

And I have to say it was a very pleasant way to end this week. I did start the week with a melt down due to the stress of this house build and more so living in the mobil home. I’m sorry but being surrounded by grim interiors that when it rains we put the buckets out is no fun whatsoever ever.

So on Monday I checked myself into a hotel and then went and stayed at my sisters for a couple more days of R and R. I literally couldn’t stop shaking and the pains in my chest were getting way too frequent for my liking.

Thankfully that has stopped now and long may it last 🤞

So to have a great day today and meet more lovely people was a very welcome relief.

A massive thankyou to everyone that came, saw, bought or just said amazing things about my colourful pottery.

My new pot of Power turquoise is a very different colour to the old one. Does anyone know if it fires to the original colour? TIA.

It’s Fathers Day and I think a fitting day to launch the Pre-Order of my “F**k Cancer” Mugs.

My dad passed pretty suddenly (83 days from beginning to end) from Re**al Cancer, 6 years ago now and not a cancer you hear about very often.

We really were great friends and had been through a lot together but I was very grateful that in his last couple of months I was able to move back to Bristol to help look after him.

We all shared some great moments with him like the doctor prescribing him red wine 🍷
I popped off to the shops to grab a bottle and we, me and my brother and sisters, all sat around his hospital bed drinking wine with him.
I’m sure an unusual event in hospitals but the doctors seemed very supportive of special moments like this when you don’t have much time left.

He is massively missed but is always in our thoughts and conversations.

Profits from these mugs will be going to Cancer Research so not only do you get to support an amazing charity you get a really really cool mug too!!

Happy Father’s Day to you all!!

Today is our Wedding Anniversary and a chance to look back at some awesome photos and just those shoes!!! 😍.

To all the newbies for RJ Ceramics a few other little things about me…

We are currently living in a mobile home on site while building a modern new home on the plot of our old bungalow. And I hate the mobile home home!!! 😂😂.

I used to ride horses and competed at Eventing and Dressage earning a British flag 🇬🇧.

I have designed quite a few houses Lando Norris’s parents being one of them. (He’s a formular one racing driver if you didn’t know)

I absolutely love animals and we get regular visits from a barn owl at the moment which just makes my day. This is the first time nearly 30 years I haven’t owned dogs, and at one point I had 7!! I really do miss them but the mobil home is not a place to have puppies!! Imagine the accidents 🤪

I definitely drive too fast 🤪, I think if I hadn’t of chosen horses I’d have been a racing driver. 🏎️

If you hadn’t guessed it Yellow is my favourite colour, Orange a close 2nd but suits my skin tone better so wear more of it.

Feel free to ask any questions you fancy, I met a big RJ fan the other day who asked loads of questions. It made me feel that I haven’t actually shared that much even though I feel like I have 🫣 so please ask if you’d like to know more.

I got some good news today…I’ve been given a spot at next months Frome Market!!

So that means I’m there for the next 3 months! How exciting, I just have to remember not to eat for a few days beforehand as the food is soooo good it’s hard to resist. 😂😂.

I’m also going to put a cold box in the car so we can buy produce and keep it cool till we get home. The home made humous is stunning 😋.

Hopefully see more of you there 😁.

I’m really trying hard to make some nice interesting salads these days so if anyone has any nice recipes or places to go and look for them I’d be very grateful.

In house news the roof is finally beginning to go on the main part of it and wow that seems like it’s taken ages.

I’m trying to get not get too stressed about it all but a health check the other day showed my blood pressure is high. I was like “no s**t Sherlock!” 😂😂.

Anyway things are moving forward and I’m desperately trying to cling to that 🤪.

⭐️Birthday Surprise⭐️

My gorgeous husband pulled off an amazing surprise for my birthday this week. He actually managed to get all my brothers and sisters (with partners) and mum and Hugo to London for a surprise birthday dinner. No mean feet I can tell you.

And despite the tears it was a great end to an amazing few days in London.

We only live an hour and a bit by train from London but it is always a mad dash in and out when we go so when he said “what would you like to do for your birthday?” I very quickly said “let’s go to London for a few days” and we did 😃😃.

Abba Voyage was outstanding and I would highly recommend.
We also took a trip to the top of The Shard, I’ve never seen London from high up and the weather was perfect for it.
That was followed by a trip to Borough Market and some delicious tapas.

Anyway enough about me and my birthday and I wanted to say that I’m going to be holding a birthday sale. I also forgot my 3 years in business date but life is busy and I completely forgot 🤯.

Life is very busy with the house building project but it’s coming along. Nearly all the steel work is up and the roof joists are going in 💪🏻

We might actually have a roof soon 🤪. Just in time for it to stop raining for F’s sake!! 🤣.

Hi I’m Rachel and here’s why I started RJ Ceramics!

Firstly I loved it, it’s very addictive 🤷🏻‍♀️

Secondly the conversations I had with my tutor went very much like this…

Me “can I do black and white? “

Tutor “well I can get a kinda brown and cream”

Me “well what about a bright yellow?”

Tutor “what like this? “

Me “well that’s a bit pale”

And so it went on and on.

A few months later I was adamant I’d figure it out and then a couple of years later Ta Da RJ started!!

And I absolutely love the colour I achieve in my ceramics. It would be really difficult to pick a favourite glaze as I’m a bit obsessed with them all 😂.

So if you are into colourful interiors and colourful ceramics you are in the right place and it’s great to have to here 🙏🥳.

Shocker!!! I think I’ve only just realised how much nature has had an influence on my work 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈.

I think generally when we say “nature” we think of muted greens and blues (well I do) but actually nature has so many bright and beautiful colours and of course R**e Seed is amongst my favourites! 💛💛💛

Remember this new shape? Well here it is, glazed in my awesome Orange Glaze, my “Gracie” bowl as I’m going to call them.

For those of you that missed it, after my poor Gracie (black lab) got put to sleep I went to my studio and played with some clay and this is what evolved. I love it!!

It is wider than my normal Torn Edge Bowls, a little shallower and with a foot ring ⭐️

AND as you know my use of vibrant colours adds a touch of fun and uniqueness to my pieces. It makes them stand out from the crowd and allows you to add some of your own personality to your home.

This beauty is sitting in in Hampshire but I have one available in my gorgeous Orange and Blue combo or another ready to glaze in which ever colour you like.

🐣 Happy Easter Everyone! Hope you are having a lovely welcomed break and spending some time with those important to you.

We, and for the first time in my life went away for Easter, booked a last minute break to the very beautiful Valetta in Malta. It’s warm, full of amazing architecture and people just sitting and chilling out. So so relaxing.

Happy International Women’s Day! (Well For tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Despite waking with a hideous migraine this morning it ended up a good day. I finally found a new car, another little BMW 1 series which I absolutely love driving. It’s like a big go cart! 👌😂.

In the same couple of horrible weeks I lost my doggies my last BMW lost power, I lost the steering and we went across the road and ended up a bank! Luckily there wasn’t anything coming the opposite way.

We did have to travel all the way north to Mansfield 🤪😂😂 but it was worth it and I had a fab drive home.
