Chicory Nook is my little shop selling beautiful vintage and antique items for your home. I would say my shop’s style is British vintage with a rustic and pretty theme. I lovingly wrap all items in brown paper or tissue paper and twine and add Chicory Nook branded tags and labels, so everything is ready if you want to to give as a gift.
Ranunculus season! Had to grab myself a bunch today as these and peonies are just perfection 👌🌺.
Shame the weather hasn’t woken up to it being Spring though…I went to an antique flea today and realise that I was in the same big coat as I wore when I went in January 😫❄️. I did pick up some goodies though and they’ll be appearing in my Etsy shop over the course of the week including this lovely basket.
Happy Tuesday! The shop has been restocked with more Spring things 😊.

A rain-free day for once, yay! A few Spring-time bits and pieces are popping up in my Etsy shop, starting with this lovely chocolate egg mould. 🐣
And we’re back to Monday again! And what’s with the return of the cold weather? We’ve all had enough now, thank you. I’m here under a heated blanket willing on warmer Spring days.
A butterfly book to share today, isn’t it beautiful? 🦋
I’m in love with barbola mirrors at the moment 😍
There are some beautiful ones here on Instagram if you have a search in the hashtags. Barbola mirrors were at the peak of popularity in the 1930s and were a pretty and glamorous edition to a women’s dressing table. Barbola refers to the ornate edging which is made from a type of plaster to replicate the look of hand carved wood. Most were free-standing but some wall hung ones exist too. They tend to be round, oval, rectangular or a rhombus shaped.
The flowers on this particular one have been painted an off-white colour so would work to fit in with more colour
schemes than the traditional multicoloured petals.
Have a lovely evening everyone, I hope you managed to stay out of the rain to today!
Hope you’re all having a good Sunday! A cosy home day for us today, with a little bit of photography to get some more vintage goodies listed.
I haven’t put together a vintage flat lay for ages, but I’ve put together this little kitchen themed one today 😊.
Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. I’ve set up a little 20% off sale in my Etsy shop which runs until Sunday 7th January 😊.

I have just popped on my Etsy shop this Edwardian original watercolour painting of a hibiscus flower. She’s a real beauty and I can’t imagine she’ll be around for long! 🌺
If you’re into the Victorian or 1940s eras I would highly recommend a trip to Manor Farm, nr Southampton. A preserved Victorian farm with thatched barns and a lovely old farmhouse set up partly in Victorian style and partly 1940s wartime. There is also a Victorian school house, kitchen garden and to look round. Vintage heaven! 😍
I’ve just listed this beautiful wildflower book. It’s got stunning flower illustrations, but I think this daisy book plate illustration is my favourite, they’ve made a simple daisy looks so pretty 😍
Wouldn’t it be lovely to keep chickens and have your own supply of fresh eggs? 🥚I’ve just added this book to the shop, it’s 1940s and so charming and a great reference guide to keeping chickens - or just great shelf decor for a country kitchen! 🐓🐓🐓
Another pretty flower book. This one was published in 1930. I love the cloth covers of books of this age 😍.
Take me home! Isn’t he just so cute in his little dungaree shorts 🥰. He’s very old, around 1930s and is quite worn but still very charming. I’ve just popped him in the shop 😊.
Restock! I’ve added more pretty vintage and antique pieces to my Etsy shop today if you want to take a peak 💗

I’ve just added this striking portrait to my Etsy shop. Its oil on board and I think it’s got the perfect amount of wear.
I’ve added a few more of the ever-popular vintage flower books to the shop today. I’ve not come across this one before, over half the book is flower book plates and they are just gorgeous! 🌸
The weather may not be very Spring-like yet but that doesn’t me we can’t add little touches around the house to make it feel like Spring is just around the corner. This Edwardian jam jar is the perfect size for this little posy. Now hurry up sunshine and blue skies!
More antique stoneware pieces added to the shop today 😊.
New goodies going into the Etsy shop today!
I have another lovely old bear looking for a new home. He’s in lovely condition for his age and has glass eyes and is partially straw-filled. 😊.
Beautiful vintage nature books 😍
A lovely start to the year for Chicory Nook, as we’ve been mentioned in the Feb/Mar edition of the US Country Living Magazine which has just been released 🌟
Some of our antique and vintage bird book finds are featured in their antique treasures section, which has a focus on birds this issue.
This is my first peek at the US version of CL mag and I’ve got to say…I prefer it to our UK one! Much more of a focus on vintage which is always a good thing!😍
