Ashfield U3A (University of the Third Age) is a self-help group aimed at providing life-long opportunities for those who are generally over 50 (though there are no age constraints) and no longer in full-time employment.
The next meeting of Ashfield,U3A is Thursday this week at the Ashfield Centre, 10.00 a.m.. The speaker is Martin Lloyd, Passports, Assassins, Traitors and Spies.
This Thursday is the A.G.M. The speaker is Canon Haydock, Confessions of a country vicar.
If you have books to bring tomorrow;
Please bring any books you have for the book stall, but bring them in bags or boxes please!!
They will be quarantined until the next meeting.
Please note that the cost of books will be 40p as of now.
As you are aware, things are beginning to get back to normal and Ashfield U3A will be holding an all day coffee morning on Thursday 26th August. There are still spaces available, especially for the afternoon session. See your recent Newsletter or email from me for details. If you are part of a group, then one of you please book for the group. All previous bookings by email have been logged.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING BOOKS FOR THE BOOKSTALL.
If you are expecting a refund for Shakespeare, please send your bank sort code and account number to Jacquie, [email protected] for preference, otherwise you will be given a cheque.
For Miscellany refunds you will be given a cheque, or transfer if you send details to Jacquie as above.
V.E.Day refunds will be £4 cash in exchange for the original tickets.
National trust refunds will be handled by Trish
Quiz night refunds will be given at the September meeting when tickets will be on sale for the rescheduled Quiz Night.
It is taken on trust that, for everyone's safety, we will all be 'double jabbed ', will do a flow test (free from pharmacies) and only come if negative and not come if you have any covid symptoms. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, then please do so.

Following an emergency committee meeting all Ashfield U3A activities, meetings and events are cancelled/or postponed until further notice.
Please keep yourselves' safe and remember you can't catch covid-19 over the telephone so do keep in touch with friends.

There will not be our usual meeting in December.
Instead there will be a Christmas Lunch at Portland Training College on Thursday 12th. December and our Christmas Coffee Morning on Thursday 19th December at The Ashwood Centre.
