What a week it was for WOMEN! 🫶🏽 I had the privilege of being asked to come & speak at the amazing head office of to speak to their team on Inspiring Inclusion✨ Thank you to their amazing team for asking me to come & share my journey and insights.

I often get asked how it feels to be a brown female in business, and the truth is- I don’t define myself by labels. I am proud to be a woman, I am proud to be south asian & I am proud to be in business.. but I am just a normal person doing my best regardless of any colour, gender or ‘boxes’ that I fit into by staying true to my own personal goals and values ✨

✨Reflecting on my journey from working in retail banking to becoming a proud business owner

So many people tell me they would love to quit their 9-5 but feel afraid to take the leap! It can be really hard to know when is the right time & whether your idea will take off.. I just wanted to share some thoughts if you’re feeling discouraged or ‘trapped’ in your current role:-

1️⃣I’m so super grateful for all the experience when working for another company. I picked up invaluable skills that well equipped me for the world of entrepeneurship- even though I didn’t realise it at the time!

2️⃣I took a calculated risk to leave & start my own company- I had no financial dependents & knew I could find a job again in the same industry should the worst happen. I had enough in the bank to keep me going in the meanwhile. Try and make a fair assessment without bringing emotion into it first.

3️⃣ I wasn’t alone- I went into biz with my sister & wouldn’t be where I am today without her. We built & grew together 💪🏽 Not everybody has the luxury of a business partner but hopefully you’ll have atleast one person that will support, encourage & motivate you in your circle

Success isn’t overnight. If you want to work for yourself:- soak in what you can from your current opportunity, use logic & facts to calculate the risk of taking the jump, and make sure you have an amazing support system in place to help you on the rollercoaster 🎢

Embrace each experience for they all contribute to your journey towards success & never let fear hold you back from pursuing your dreams.🚀

who’s looking forward to 2024?

2015 to 2023 - well this is an embarrassing throwback, slide all the way to pic 3 to see why 🤣

Me & my sister set up our dessert company over 8 years ago.. It all started from one small kiosk in a shopping centre in Leeds & we have now grown it to a 7 figure business - but it didn’t happen overnight.

There were days we wanted to give up, days we had to push ourselves and so many times we didn’t know how we would get through. We didn’t give up, kept working hard and pushing.

We were new to the world of business, but we threw ourselves straight into the deep end & learnt the hard way round! There were so many things we were great at, some we needed to work on.. and other areas we had ZERO skills in (referring to the terrible name & branding that we started off with🙈)

I wanted to write this for anyone looking for motivation, who’s finding it difficult to start out or just finding it tough in this current economy. Everyone starts from somewhere, you just have to keep pushing through, learning & evolving. There’s no linear route to success - keep pushing & let’s smash 2024🔥

We are heading into such a busy time for businesses… 🎄

If you have grown your business at all this year, you would know it is always a challenge.

Managing stores, staff and everything in between can be overwhelming.

💜I’ve been wanting to visit for so long & now that their new Mayfair restaurant has opened, we went to go try it. Starters were 10/10! My fave was the cheese pastry rolls (not a fan of cheese or pastry but this was 😋). Mains were delish & the desserts were perfect. We would definitely go back for date night & with friends too. thank you for having us
