Public appeal to find missing woman from Ferndown

A search is underway for a woman who has gone missing from Ferndown and officers are appealing for the public’s help to find her.

Jade Hill, 23, was last seen in Robinswood Drive at around 2.30pm on Sunday 27 February 2022. She has subsequently been in contact with friends and family via a messaging app and was reported missing at 11.13pm on Sunday 27 February 2022.

She is described as white, five feet four inches tall, of slim build and with long blonde curly hair. Subsequent enquiries have revealed that Jade may be in the Wareham area. Her car, a white Peugeot 208 with the registration AA02 JAD, is also missing.

Inspector Nathan Liddicott, of Dorset Police, said: “Jade has been upset recently and we are very concerned for her. It is really important that we find Jade so we can establish she is safe.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Jade, her vehicle or a woman matching the description given to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am also making a direct plea to Jade if you see this appeal to please make contact with us or your family and let us know where you are, as we just want to ensure you are safe.”

The beach app developed by BCP Council enabling beach-goers to check the busy beaches has undergone a major upgrade and now provides even more information to its users.

Launched in July last year to help beach-goers comply with social distancing, the BCPBeachCheck app now provides live information on car-parking spaces and locations for toilet facilities, barbecues and dog-friendly areas as well as the live traffic light system for its 15-mile coastline along Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole helping visitors and residents alike avoid busy hotspots in time for the summer season.

As before, the user can check a particular beach from Sandbanks to Highcliffe and see a map indicating the busier areas (red), less busy beaches (amber) and those with plenty of available space (green). Now anyone who downloads the app can also see if any locations are temporarily closed and find out how many spaces are available at a number of BCP Council-operated car parks helping them to plan their journey. They will also be able to discover where toilet facilities are located and where they can walk their dog.

The app is free to download and available from Google Play and the Apple App Store. The rapid developments to the BCPBeachCheck app are funded through BCP Council's seasonal response plan as the council leads in resort management, demonstrated by the support it has received from central government. Plans to roll the app out nationally are currently underway.

In a statement issued this morning, the club says it is a decision which has not been taken lightly, given Jason’s outstanding commitment to the club as a player, assistant manager and manager.

However, recent performances and results have fallen well below the board’s expectations.

We feel a change is needed now in order to give the club the best possible chance of achieving the goals that were clearly set out last summer.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jason for his services to AFC Bournemouth over the past 22 years.

He is someone who is fondly thought of throughout the club, having played an important role in rescuing the club from its darkest days and taking it on the greatest journey it has ever had.
