Our outdoor fires are undercover so no matter what the weather throws at you, you can enjoy the experience of outdoor living throughout the year.

There really is no better way to end your perfect day than to sit by a roaring fire with your favourite person watching the dancing flames and listening to the sounds of the woodland at night.

Well hello spring!

It’s officially the first day of spring, and spring has definitely sprung at Arcadia 🌼🌸🪻

The daffodils are in full bloom, the bluebells and wild garlic are making their early appearance, and the wildlife is reemerging from hibernation. The frogs have been busy laying their spawn in the ponds, and just yesterday as I stood looking out from the studio towards the cabins I saw two young deer, a pheasant, a buzzard and a hare.

If you’re ready to escape and surround yourself in nature we have just released two Saturday arrival stays in April; Sat 6th - 8th in Elysium and Sat 13th - 15th in Halcyon.

Conic Hill is one of our favourite hikes that we did for the second time on returning here to this area. Do not miss the views.

The ‘Lone Tree’ at Milarrochy Bay, Loch Lomond (save for later.)

Probably one of Scotland’s most photographed trees, this tenacious little tree - an oak - has stood here for as long as I can remember, withstanding all weathers. Standing half in and half out of the Loch, with roots exposed to the elements, it’s a great reminder to us all of the power and resilience of nature.

The ‘lone tree’ is easy to reach from Arcadia Glamping.

🚙 Drive along to Balmaha (about 10 mins by car) and park up in the car park at the visitors centre.

🥾 Cross over the road and follow the shoreline until you arrive at Balmaha pier where you will see a path to your right. Cross over the metal bridge and walk for about 25 mins along the West Highland Way route until you reach Milarrochy Bay.

🏖️ The path follows the shoreline of Loch Lomond and there are plenty of opportunities to stop along the way and find yourselves a spot on the beach to enjoy the spectacular views over the Loch.

The hills are calling!

How lucky are we to have this stunning view from the top of our road looking over towards Loch Lomond and the Arrochar Alps? After snow flurries this morning the sun came out and rewarded us with this!

For those of you who are keen walkers, the West Highland Way goes right past our door and walkers pass this view on Gartness Road enroute to Drymen.

The 1st stage of the West Highland Way is usually Milngavie to Drymen, the 2nd stage is from Drymen to Rowardennan via Conic Hill.

Conic Hill is closed at the moment for improvements (re-opening 31st March) but it’s such a popular walk with our guests so worth keeping in mind. You can either drive and park, or you can walk from your cabin at Arcadia following the West Highland Way route, climb Conic Hill ( the views are worth it I promise) and then reward yourself with a scone and a coffee at Balmaha before taking the bus back to Drymen. What a great way to spend a day!

The snow has finally caught up with us. I was hoping to slide straight into spring but we woke up to a dusting of snow. (I’m so ready for spring 😄) On the upside it is pretty though!

As some of you know, we recently featured on Scotland’s Greatest Escape on BBC Scotland. We were thrilled to win our category Best Campsite, Caravan, and Chalet Escape.

Mistakes happen but we just wanted to clarify that the nightly rate quoted on the show is wrong! 🤦‍♀️

Unfortunately, our NIGHTLY rate was quoted as £380 when in fact £380 is the price for TWO NIGHTS for a weekend stay or during peak season. Agggghhhhh!

We have a two night minimum stay (which is quite typical for our type of accommodation) and so perhaps this is where the confusion has occurred.

For stays of more than 2 nights we offer a discount of £40 per night for every subsequent night booked.

And don’t forget, included in your stay are lots of lovely complimentary extras;
