Job Title: Calibration Technician Apprentice

Location: Hull

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Fridays 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with 1 day release included for additional training at college

Key Responsibilities:

Learn and assist in calibrating a wide range of measurement and test equipment.
Work under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Assist in the documentation and record-keeping of calibration procedures and results.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve calibration issues.
Gain hands-on experience in performing adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment.
Develop a strong understanding of calibration techniques, principles, and instrumentation.

Qualifications:

High school qualifications level 3 or higher
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
Basic computer skills.
Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Today we’re at Gosport calibrating a fixed gas detection system. What a great site of the new aircraft carrier.

On top of the world yesterday at Fawley, if you wondered where all the big super tankers dock this is the one of the locations! We was on board calibrating a fixed gas sampler

Marine industry can be quite tricky to get items calibrated due to the short berthing times. That why we’re here to visit your vessel 7 days a week thus reducing your downtime whilst sending equipment off for shore calibration. @ Dunbar, East Lothian, United Kingdom

Interesting day today on site fault finding with some fixed gas detection systems. 🔧 These systems are for rooms with high magnetism 🧲 to allow them to monitor gas whilst not interfering with the laboratory experiments 🧪 @ Kingston upon Hull

Sneak peek of some work we’ve been doing on board one of the HMS vessels we look after. We’ve been planning and go back and forth with ideas for the last 6 months so it’s good to finally make a start.

Our customer asked for us to install a new 16 channels gas detection system with one main panel (in CCR) and one repeater panel.

Work is almost completed just waiting for the parts to arrive so we can commission and program the system and make sure all the approvals are in line with DNV @ JBA Calibration Services LTD

Yesterday we travelled to Lowestoft to calibrate various items for multiple vessels

Today we’ve been on board a vessel to replace a faulty circuit board and also change 3x combustible sensors. Once installed we had to program all parameters for each sensor. We was also asked to calibrate various torque wrenches 🔧 Have a great weekend👍 @ Port of Immingham

We’ve been crazy busy over the last few weeks, from installing a WI-FI temperature data logging system which send low and high alarms straight to your smartphone and also live readings and charts on your PC or smartphone and also wiring up a 16 channel gas detection system up with two panels to one of contracted navy vessels. @ Kingston upon Hull

Long day in Liverpool today trying to calibrate a gas sampler which has been incorrectly serviced/calibrated before @ Liverpool Docks

Today we’re in London working on some new flats for a fixed gas detection system in the energy and boiler room @ Oakwood, London

Today we’re in Scotland, this morning we’ve completed some calibrations at Grangemouth, now we’re heading on a launch to vessel out @ Dunbar. 4 1/2 hours then 5 hours back + working hours (Crazy day) @ Burntisland, Fife

On site today calibration various food machinery temperature probes with a 5 point calibration. @ Kingston upon Hull
