Emma Bennett Collage
Emma Bennett Collage (www.emmabennettcollage.co.uk) is a gorgeous range of hand-cut art, prints, notebooks and gifts with an eco ethos.
Sorry if you have received a scantly clad lady pic supppsedly from me, obviously it isn’t. I have changed my password a few times and all my security settings are correct, so no idea why it happens.
Lovely to pop into Cambridge Contemporary Art Gallery (CCA) this morning to see the fantastic ceramics they have on display. Great so see my own originals and cards on display also.
Amazing to hear that Endurance has been found. I was commissioned a few years ago by The Scott Polar Museum and Research Centre to create this image of Endurance and Shackleton for their private art collection.
The fabulous Cambridge Contemporary Gallery, who represent me in Cambridge, have arranged a fundraiser for Ukraine. Artists have donated work for sale with 100% of income going to DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) who provide help on the ground fast. This is the picture I have donated, there are many more as well as sculpture and ceramics. Please have a look and see if anything tempts you for such an important cause.

Exciting to see the first proofs of the second children's book Molly and I have worked on. Bella and the Bees will be coming out next month along with a shiny new website 'Emma Bennett Books'
I delivered a selection of my Cambridge work (framed and unframed) to the wonderful Cambridge Contemporary Art Gallery this morning. The gallery was full of colour and light and really is the best gallery in Cambridge! Their Winter Exhibition will open next month, which will include a changing selection of my work, an honour to be in the company of such fantastic artists.
It's always a lot of work, but the work of 58 fabulous Artists all in and catalogued for The Birmingham Art Book. Almost ready to had over to our book designer, hoorah!
This weekend (11-6 both days) will be my last Open Studios of the year and probably the last for a few years as I focus on other exciting artistic paths and The City Art books. So neighbours, friends, clients and those I have yet to meet do come and say hi. Lots on show and all art prices reduced as a one off. The room is very big and so plenty of room for social distancing and some art work will also be on show in the shade of the garden.
Ready for another 11am start for . We are open until 6, the sun is shining and all are welcome.
All set up for this weekends Cambridge Open Studios. For the first time in 4 years a solo exhibition of all of my work along with prints, books and homewares, cards etc. In a new airy indoor/outdoor space all the now normal procedures in place. I'd love to see you and I do make great coffee.....
68 in the online guide and App. # cosart2021
Finally a few hours to get ready for Cambridge Open Studios, looking forward to welcoming people in (indoor/outdoor room so lots of fresh air) this weekend and 3rd weekend. Even the drink cabinet had been turned into a display, luckily I took the gin out first!
William and I were out leaflet dropping this morning for Cambridge Open Studios. We chatted to a lot of people - yes it is surprising there aren't the usual banners up, yes it's a shame there are no booklets this year and YES it is taking place! Check out the Cambridge Open Studios website to find out who is exhibiting and where. I am 68 in the online guide.
Cambridge Open Studios coming up! I am 68 in the online and downladable guide. Weekends of July 20-11th and 17-18th July. Would be so lovely to see you, open space, lots of room for social distancing, I may even put the kettle on.
The riverside characters continue
It was so lovely to be sent this picture today of a family (don't know who) snuggling up to read Finn and the Five Flies together. We have been bowled over by the feedback and the large number of homes Finn and those five flies are now in. Work has begun on the second book, this time about a cat called Bella and her bee friends.
Latest in my hand-cut bridge pictures ready for Cambridge Open Studios this year, loved working on this one.
Although Finn and the Five Flies is the 6th book I have had published (three more coming next year!), the thrill of seeing your book on display in a shop, or receiving a great review never goes away. This is Finn and those pesky Five Flies sitting happily in Heffers bookshop in Cambridge, a wonderful shop that has been selling good books since 1876. Finn, just behave yourself.....
It was great to be asked to do a training morning today on Zoom with all of the staff at the fabulous Artfinder. All working remotely the team took time out to hear me waffle on, learn a few things then have a go at some collage for themselves.
Coffee and a walk around Cambridge this morning it was wonderful to see how many of the fantastic independent shops we have in Cambridge stocking The Cambridge Art Book. Podarok was looking fantastic. News on Finn and the Five Flies and Cambridge bookshops coming soon...
This hand-cut commission using only recycled papers for a client in the States was a real challenge. A typical New York street scene it has 6 height layers and details such as the people are only 2cm tall. The picture has arrived safely in California where the client lives and she is thrilled.
Finn and those pesky five flies are still travelling all over. Go Finn... www.finnandthefiveflies.co.uk
I am preparing a presentation for a training morning I am doing over Zoom for a company. I've taken some sunny photographs of my lovely studio to include in the presentation- thought I would share.
The new range of Cambridge greetings cards are now on the website. More coming soon.

The small detail I am working on for my current commission is ridiculous, any idea what these will become?!
I am often asked why my designs are not available online as greetings cards. The simple answer is that life is very busy! Anyway, there are now three lovely 100% recycled cards online with a further 2-3 designs coming in the next week or so. There will also be a mixed gift box coming.
For reference - cards come in a paper bag, not plastic wrap. Postage is free for 4 or more cards. Thank you x

Finn and those pesky five flies are getting so much attention anyone would think Finn was rather cute! Thank you Cambridge Independent for the write up.
After a frustrating year for us, publication of The Bristol and Bath Book, the sixth in The City Art Book series was delayed. I am pleased to say the book is now with the designers, so progress at last! I am also thrilled to say that the next in the art book series will be the iconic city of Birmingham. Chosen to host to The Commonwealth Games in 2022, Birmingham will now have two things to celebrate!
Hi, hope all is well. We are trying to package up books just a couple of times a week now as other work is very busy. (We need the bookshops to open up!) So if you were wanting to order copies of this lovely book, I know some people said to remind them!, then please note this week we will be posting out on Wednesday and Friday. www.finnandthefiveflies.co.uk
A busy afternoon packaging up Limited Edition prints and an original for posting.
If you are looking for something to listen to with your cuppa, then I have added the link for the interview Molly and I did on Cambridge 105 this morning onto this page: www.finnandthefiveflies.co.uk
Yes, I know I like my tea practically white, before now I have forgotten to add the teabag and still enjoyed it!
Molly and I are on the fabulous Leigh Chambers show on Cambridge 105 this morning (around 10.30 I think) talking about how we came up with the idea for Finn and the Five Flies and working together on it etc. We are overwhelmed with the response to the book, one happy customer last week suggested a Finn fan club?! Um. Leigh always does a fab show so grab your coffee.

I have enjoyed working on this commission of a familiar Cambridge scene for a couple in Windsor to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Made from hand-cut collage using recycled papers, It will be available as a print and as a greeting card on the website soon.
We have Finn and the Five Flies orders to pack up this weekend, so if you would like to order a dedicated copy/copies we can get yours beautifully packaged at the same time! Weblink on the third image.
In these locked in times I am enjoying travelling a bit through my clients, book customers and art. Today I have been discussing details for a commission with a lady in New York, another client in Windsor and posted out books to Oxfordshire and Somerset.
A pre-work/school session of book signing for Finn and the Five Flies books. Everyday Finn heads somewhere new, today he and those pesky five flies are heading for Wales, Essex, Somerset and Liverpool. Where will Finn go next?!
Photoshoot for next month's Velvet magazine to go with a 500 word article about Molly and I creating the book.
It's out! Thank you to all of you have bought lovely gifts from either my website (www.emmabennettcollage.co.uk), the Histon Handmade online fair, the Ely Cathedral online Fair or the Mill Road online Fair. The little shop I set up in my studio full of goodies is emptying fast. (Christmas cards have all gone) and only 3 Cambridge Tea towels left. But I still have some lovely 100% cotton aprons, all of The City Art Books (The Oxford Art Book is on sale ), coasters and lots of lovely prints and mini prints. Thank you!
