World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health. The theme for 2023, set by the World Foundation of Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’.

New Sessions at Shildon Leisure Centre
We have the following sessions starting this week:-
Thursday Walking Football 13.00 till 14.00
Friday Gentle Track Cycle (bikes and helmets provided) 12.30 till 13.30
Friday Pay and Play soft tennis, badminton or table tennis 14.00 till 15.00
Your first session is free then it is £3.00 there after.

From 6 to 9 participants within two weeks at our new seated exercise class at Woodhouse Close Community church. Why not come along and have a go your first session is free then is is £3.00 a session. Walking Football at Wolsingham Leisure Centre last night has a couple more new faces. They meet every Monday and play 16.00 till 17.00 all session in September are free. Come along and join in the fun.

Great turnout for our first seated exercise class at Woodhouse Community Church. It starts at 13.00 every Monday and is 45 minutes. The group will have a cuppa afterwards from next week as well. Your first class is free then it is £3.00 per session.

We are making some changes to our community wellbeing programmes and you may notice things start to look a little different over the next few weeks.

We want to support everyone to get moving and hope that bringing all of our activities in one place will help to make things simpler. You will notice that our name is changing to Move and we will have a new logo. We are also brining our social media into one place - please give us a like on (walk Durham link) to keep up to date.

Please don't worry although things may look a little different, your activity will stay the same.

Walking football started yesterday at Wolsingham Leisure Centre. Come along and have a go next weeks session is free of charge. Our seated exercise group at Evenwood had a blast this week having a go at new age curling and boccia. They meet every Wednesday at the Randolph Centre Evenwood 11 till12 followed by a cuppa. Sessions are £3.00. Unfortunately there is no session next week but we are back to normal thereafter.

Free holiday swimming for under 19s is BACK for the summer, commencing on Saturday 22nd July across our pools! 🤩

Children and young people aged 18 years and under can attend any of our general swim, inflatable and fun sessions free of charge. Splashability sessions are also available free for children, young people and adults who have a disability.🏊

Fantastic turnout out are first seated exercise class delivered by Julie in Evenwood this morning. it starts at 11.00 and runs for between 45 -60 minutes every Wednesday at Randolph Centre. First session is free and tea and coffee available afterwards

The way you sign up for wellbeing activities is changing.

We are introducing a new Leisure Hub system so that you can view timetables, book and pay for wellbeing activities. In order to access the new system you will need to sign up for a free wellbeing activity membership. Once you have registered for an account and received your thrive membership card you can simply turn up for your walk and scan your card.
