Call Sign Chopper
Following his recent book Chris is now sharing his life experiences with audiences
I am very excited to announce Chris did another after dinner talk last night. This time to the Rotary Club in Loughborough. His talk was well received and he also sold a number of books. Today I received the following email from one of the attendees.
"Thanks for visiting us last night, and what a superb talk, you captured everybody's attention throughout.
One of the most interesting presentation I have seen in the last 25 years of Rotary.
Makes me realise I have had a very mundane worklife!".
Each talk Chris has given has been better than the one before. It was obvious last night he had 'knocked the ball out of the park'. This feedback today confirmed it.
I'm so proud of you Chris.
Sadly, due to a greatly reduced number of ticket sales across the board with regards to the annual Book Festivals this year, Chris, and over half of the other speakers will not now be performing at the Boston Book Festival over the weekend. We're obviously disappointed but there's always next year, where, who knows, Chris may very well have added to his repertoire 😉
I am very excited to announce Chris will be performing at this years Boston Book Festival. Programme details and tickets via this link http://www.bostonbookfest.co.uk/
Before you all rush off and book your flights, I'm talking about Boston, Lincolnshire and not Massachusetts 😂
Boston Book Festival - Home Boston Book Festival.
My promoter, Chris (and, no, I'm not talking in the third person, she is a separate person) said I'm the only person she knows who visits the hospital for my pre-med plus a discussion with my consultant and comes out with a couple of book sales and a potential booking for an after dinner talk.
Nothing, but nothing, will deter me or stop me reaching my goals
Busy sending out applications for the numerous Book/Literary Festivals for next year
Just booked another Professional Speakers Association event for the end of October. The subject "Marketing yourself as a speaker".
I'd like to give a mention today to John Blackwell. John produced the front cover of my book. Highly recommend if your looking for a a photographer.

VERY PERSONAL POETRY
Many people wouldn't associate Chris, knowing the life he has led, to be a writer of poetry.
Chris's first poem was written when he hit a milestone birthday. On reflecting on his life, the decisions he had made, the risks he had taken, he compared it to his days in the Police in the 1970's when he was an over worked copper. Chris's "theapy" was to put it down on paper.
Chris's second poem was written at a time when he knew he could no longer maintain the lifestyle, he so loved, which left him reflecting on his adventurous life. His "theapy" was to put it down on paper.
Chris's final poem was written after he completed gruelling chemo and radio theapy following his cancer diagnosis. Chris's "theapy" was to put it down on paper.

HUMANITARIAN WORK
Chris has lived an adventurous life, copper, security, protection, kidnap rescue and recovery to name but a few but, as part of his adventurous spirit and, between assignments and missions, Chris has also worked on a number of humanitarian jobs.
Chris will give an open and honest "on the spot", insight of these jobs together with the challenges he faced.
- Thailand Boxing Day Tsunami
- Afriqiyah air crash Tripoli, Libya
- Germanwings air crash, Marseilles, France
- Helios air crash Athens, Greece
- Construction of ‘Earthdome’ habitation for AIDS Orphans in Beatrice a country village and lived as a local
- Grenfell Fire
In preparation of further bookings and to learn from the best, I joined the Professional Speakers Association.

ZIMBABWE
From street copper, to bouncer, to bodyguarding the president of Haiti, and, in between anti-piracy deployments, Chris is working providing security at music festivals when he comes across a charity called Ecodome.
Chris was fascinated by the Ecodome structures which were made from recycled plastic tubing, rammed with earth, coiled to form a dome shape, then hand plastered with mud. Quick, affordable housing especially in poorer countries.
After visiting the UK based office in Cardiff, Chris was advised the Institute was based in California but it would probably be a year until they could send him to California for training.
Not prepared to wait a year, hear how Chris
- funded his own trip to California
- his training
- his trip to Zimbabwe to build an orphanage for child victims of the AIDS epidemic
- his, less than ideal, living conditions
- his interaction and relationship building with the locals
- his interaction with the presidents armed "goons" watching over the project.

HIATI REVISITED
From street copper, to bouncer, to bodyguarding the president of Haiti, anti-piracy deployments and humanitarian work, Chris finds himself travelling back to Hiati, this time, initially, as an Armed Personal Protection Officer.
- Hear how Chris provides personal protection for key employees of ComCEL;
- How, at a time of serious political turbulence and violence, Chris is called upon to supervise, train and support local security guards at stores, sites and events;
- How Chris becomes involved in investigations and kidnap victim recovery and rescue, culminating in him being offered a position in a secret organisation "Men of Good Intent", formed to "even up the odds" with regards to the violence, kidnapping and corruption prominent at the time.
Another great visit last week.
Booked to see a poet read some of his work in preparation of, hopefully, being added to next year's programme.

Great day out yesterday to Cheltenham Festival.
Lots of research being done in the hope of being included in next year's programme either as an Author or a speaker or, hopefully, both.

ANTI PIRACY DEPLOYMENTS
After his career as a copper was cut short, following an accident, Chris embarked on a life of security, protection and various other risky assignments, both in the UK and abroad.
One of these assignments was providing anti piracy protection when piracy was at it's peak.
Chris worked for a british company, run by a couple of ex coppers, who had won contracts providing unarmed and armed missions for the US Military Supply Ships, providing supplies and armament.
Hear how Chris provided security transiting The Gulf of Arden, Northern Europe and the Mediterranian and the challenges he faced.
Welcome to my Page.
A little about me.
After publishing my book I was diagnosed with cancer and unable to promote it as I'd have liked.
After months of treatment I was asked, as a last minute favour, to step in and do a talk, about my book, to a local organisation. Unprepared and not experienced in speaking (although I have years of experience in talking to audiences mostly in a training capacity), I had nothing to lose, so I agreed.
Best decision I made. The positive feedback was just what I needed to boost my confidence and think about the delayed promotion of my book.
Since then I have expanded my "offerings" to not just my book but other life experiences which I intend documenting in future books as and when I can find the time.
Details of my "offerings" are below.
It’s 1963. 13-year-old Chris watches ‘Doctor No’ and dreams of emulating his hero: James Bond, 007.
Two years later Chris’ world is shattered when the father he idolises deserts the family leaving him to help support his mother and younger brother. He quits school with no qualifications but miraculously finds a job as a clerical assistant with the Ministry of Defence, hoping that Martinis and Aston Martins will soon follow.
Chris quickly realises however, that clerical assistants never get to be secret agents.
One evening, a chat with a local copper convinces Chris to join the police. Twenty-six years of active service follow until his career is cut short by a car accident leaving him with a broken neck. Medically discharged from the police but still longing for adventurous work, Chris takes a job as a bouncer.
When the BBC comes calling, looking for bouncers to star in ‘Muscle’ - a new documentary series investigating city centre violence - Chris finds himself unexpectedly in the spotlight.
While filming ‘Muscle’ he’s sent to Los Angeles to train as a weapons carrying bodyguard. Impressed by his skills, the organisation invites him to join an elite team of mercenaries tasked with guarding the president of the impoverished Republic of Haiti.
Follow Chris’s remarkable journey from the streets of Bristol to the land of Voodoo, violent revolution and the ever-present spectre of death.
