Prydis Charity Walk for the Sussex Snowdrop Trust! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Last year, we had our first Charity Walk from Exeter to Exmouth to support Lymphoma Action charity.

Today the Prydis team will be lacing up our walking shoes again for another special cause.

We are embarking on a charity walk from our Exeter office to Dawlish Warren in support of our Charity of the Year 2024 -

The Sussex Snowdrop Trust provides nursing care at home for local children who have life-threatening or terminal illnesses. Their work is invaluable, and we are proud to support such a meaningful cause.

An evening of cards and cars dealt a fundraising success for Roger Young Jaguar Land Rover.

The big-hearted local business hosted their ‘Cards and Cars’ charity auction in partnership with Prydis last week and raised an incredible £10,111.55 for St Luke’s patient care.

Marketing Manager at Roger Young, Levi Atkin said: “As a business we chose to support St Luke’s to raise awareness of their unwavering dedication to provide specialist care and contribute to their cause, understanding that their services might be invaluable to our loved ones in the future.

“St Luke's Hospice Plymouth is a respected and valued charity and close to many hearts within our local community. Their commitment and passion in providing dignity, comfort, and support for patients and their families during challenging times is admirable.”

The evening centred around a charity auction, where a curated collection of vehicles met the lively backdrop of casino entertainment, in their state-of-the-art Land Rover showroom in Saltash, while Thomas Rattray, Director of Kivells, kindly dedicated his time as the auctioneer for the evening—which from all accounts was an absolutely fantastic contribution!

The money raised from the evening means that at least 10 families can receive our specialist care at home at the most crucial of times.

Levi added: “It's truly remarkable to know that all the proceeds from our charity event will have a direct impact on the lives of local people. We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, purchased from the auction, and supported us, including our clients, local businesses, Jaguar Land Rover, and Isuzu UK. Their generous contributions made the event possible.”

George Lillie, CEO of St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth said: “Roger and his showroom team really went the extra mile to make their Cars and Cards charity evening a huge success, raising an incredible amount to support our work at St Luke’s. We’re so grateful to the businesses that donated such amazing prizes and to the generous people who put in bids for them on the night. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved in this fantastic event, on behalf of us all at the hospice.

“Some people think St Luke’s is only focused on the city of Plymouth, so it’s wonderful to have the support of businesses like Roger Young, on the Cornish side of the Tamar Bridge. This part of Cornwall is home to many of the patients we care for at our specialist unit at Turnchapel, in hospital and currently in their own homes with our new four-month pilot East Cornwall end of life Urgent Care Service, supporting our NHS colleagues.”

Thank you so much to the kindness of everyone at Roger Young and everyone who attended the evening, your support makes the world of difference to so many local people.
