Wiltshire based sugarcrafter making non edible flowers and models.

Sweet peas are one of my very favourite flowers to make, I think because they're so variable so I can have a lot of fun with colours!
Tell me what colour sweet peas are your favourite - and Tag your SweetPea so they can answer too!
These pictures came up in my Facebook memories for my personal profile this morning. Examples of layouts of arrangements I've done and can replicate for a new order. I really love to make flowers 🥰
I had a go at piping some fur at the Sugarcraft guild meeting on Friday. Not bad for a first attempt if I may say so myself.
Had great fun at last night's meeting, even if we didn't have any power!
I was lucky enough to catch this wild unicorn on his way to celebrate the last weekend of pride!
I've been meaning to try doing a unicorn for a while, pride month seemed the perfect excuse!
How have you spent pride month with your loved ones?

Did you know the word 'hydrangea' comes from the Greek for 'water vessel'? This is in regards to the seed pods, which resemble cups - it's also appropriate as they are notoriously thirsty plants, both in the ground and as cut flowers. This one won't need any watering though 😉
Although this page is focused on sugarcraft, at heart I'm a baker. I've been to a few signing/demo events at Topping & Co in Bath, this week it was with Janusz and Carole from Bake Off 2022!
So much love and good vibes in the room, can't wait to get going on the recipes!
Somebody asked me the other day why I mark my products as non-edible when the specialist sugarpastes I'm using are edible. The answer to that is that almost all pieces will contain one or more of the following non-edible elements:
1. Wires and cake pop sticks - used for constructing flowers and internal support for models.
2. Polystyrene buds - used for the centres of flowers such as roses to make them quicker to make and reduce overall weight.
3. Stamens - used for extra details inside flowers to make them more realistic.
4. Florist tape - to attach elements of a project together to create the final piece.
5. Colour dusts - very occasionally, a dust I use to add the finishing touches to something will be marked as 'non-toxic' rather than edible. This is more common for vivid colours and those with a special finish eg. pearlised.
6. Thread - sometimes used to create stamens when not using ready-made ones and also to suspend elements within a piece (e.g. the catkins from the springtime arrangement posted previously on the page).
So as you can see, I use a lot more than just sugarpaste when creating my work, and because of this, my products are non-edible.
But to be honest, in my opinion, a lot of the specialist pastes aren't particularly pleasant to eat anyway!
It's been so nice to finally have some dry and sunny weather. I've been able to get out and about and find some flowers for inspiration - whether in a shop, or a hedgerow.
There are flowers everywhere at the moment - have you seen anything particularly beautiful recently?
I had a lot of fun making these seashells and the clam to go with them! Please get in touch if you would like something similar (or something totally different!)
Anyone seen the Easter Bunny yet?
Chester D Bunnington and Marcia Von Jellybean here are helpers of his.
They're both looking for a special Easter cake to grace. Just under 12cm tall, £15 each
Hi folks!
As you can see, things look a bit different over here. I've revamped this page to be solely for cake toppers for sale (flowers, models etc).
If you want to keep up with other baking, you can find me at starr_bakes on Instagram (I may occasionally post here too).
Best Wishes
Abi
What's Valentine's day without red roses?
I made these by hand using specialist flower paste.
Hope you've all had a day filled with love ❤️
It can be so satisfying to get a tight spiral in the centre of a sugar rose. This is 5mm across at the point, fiddly stuff!
Was great fun to do this today. Makes so much difference to get feedback in real time when learning something new.
Big thanks Grace & Clover!
Here's a cheeky teddy cake topper I made a few weeks ago. Please get in touch if you would like something similar!
Something a little fruitier today! Lime drizzle sponge with mango and passion fruit frosting! 😋😋
Feels like it's been ages since I've baked cake. Love these cases, especially for easter. First time I've tried two tone frosting and hopefully the cake underneath will be marbled too 🤞
Holy cake genius Batman! 💥
We can't get enough of the comic book cake trend, and .littlecakery knocked it out of the park with this one! 😍

Made your Christmas cake but not sure how to decorate it?
How about this festive floral arrangement (poinsettia, mistletoe, and ivy)?
As with anything on the page at the moment, it's fragile, wired, and 100% non-edible. If looked after properly it could last years.
Currently one available, but can make more if needed.
£10
Hi folks, Abi here!
Created this new page to get my sugarcraft and cake decorating to people outside of my friends list. Kicking off with some sugarcraft pieces that are currently available!
Please share with your friends and join me as I practice and learn new skills.
