This year we're teaming up with Teesdale Turkeys and Mickleton Mill Salers to bring you the perfect Christmas Dinner.
The Norfolk Bronze turkeys have been reared in the heart of Teesdale on family farms, from 1 day old. They've ensured the turkeys have had a natural environment & a varied diet including herbs, vegetables & fruit. This will ensure that they taste delicious & are full of flavour.
All the turkeys are plucked, dressed & are hung for 5 days, to ensure the most fantastic flavour & meat quality.

Public encouraged to buy Christmas turkey direct from farm Brits are being encouraged to buy turkey directly from the farm this year as it will in turn help farmers after a challenging year with the pandemic.

🎄 Countdown to Christmas has officially started with our first turkey orders going out this weekend 🦃
All of our free range and barn reared turkeys have sold out for this year, but keep an eye out for us next year!

So our turkeys have moved onto their finisher diet which promotes lean growth for breast meat and gives the carcass the best finish ready for the big day!
Our herb fed turkeys have a mixture of fresh, home grown herbs mixed into their feed every day. On today’s menu we have a mix of chives, parsley, fennel, rosemary and mint.
The turkeys also get spring greens and apples to give them a varied diet and to give them some environmental enrichment as they scratch around for the fruit and veg.
We hope all these added extras will enhance the turkeys flavour!

We've still got a handful of extra large free range or turkeys available for Christmas 🍗
These birds are perfect for a family gathering, which are now permitted under updated Covid guidelines over Christmas! Alternatively, they are perfect for 4-6 people, who would like some leftovers for Boxing Day.

This afternoon we Skyped one of our partner Primary Schools from Tottenham, North London. At Teesdale Turkeys we are passionate about inspiring, engaging and also educating young people about the journey from farm to fork 🦃🍗🍴 It's important to us that young people understand the full process about where their food comes from. The children had the opportunity to ask questions about all parts of farming life 👌🏻 This is Catherine on Skype to the Year 1 class who loved meeting the free range, outdoor turkeys and chickens 🦃🐔

Only 7 weeks until Christmas today... Have you ordered your turkey yet? 🎅🏻☃️🎄
🌟🦃 Just a little throwback to when our turkeys were teeny tiny! As you can see they had fresh feed, clean water and plenty of space. We introduced various things to keep them entertained, including Green Kale and CDs to peck at, giving them an enriched environment!
These guys were also kept under a heat lamp for the first few weeks to keep them nice and warm until they developed enough feather coverage to keep themselves warm. 🦃🌟
