Breast Screening can detect cancers before any signs or symptoms can be seen or felt. ๐ธ
You will be automatically invited for screening if you are aged between 50-71 years old and registered as female with a GP practice.
Breast screening is a X-ray and takes around 10 mins to complete and could possibly save your life.๐
What to look out for ๐ธ๐
Getting to know your body and whatโs normal for you can help to notice any changes.
If you do notice any changes please contact your GP surgery to get it checked- even if you think itโs nothing, itโs better to check ๐
Please do not wait until your invited for your mammogram.

Anyone who is registered as female with a GP Will automatically get an invite every three years between the ages of 50-71. ๐ธ
Your first invite is usually between your 50th and 53rd birthday ๐

If you have noticed any changes to your breast/ chest areas please contact your GP to get it checked. Please donโt wait until your invited for a mammogram ๐
If you are 50-71 years old and registered with a GP practice as female you will be automatically invited for breast screening every 3 years.

Where do I go for breast screening?
Our clinic is on the ground floor in Mountain Suite. ๐ฟ This is to your left as you walk into the health centre and follow the corridor round to mountain suite ๐
Where can I park? ๐
There is a free car park to the health centre, this is found on Seymour Street, if you have a disabled badge please still display your badge if parking in a disabled parking bay.
What should I wear? ๐๐
It is best to wear separates such as a top and bottoms as you will need to remove your top and bra for the mammogram/X-ray.
If you notice any changes to your breasts please contact your GP.

Breast screening is on the 1st Floor. This can be accessed via the lifts or the stairs. You donโt need to check in at the ground floor reception please take a seat on the blue chairs and we will call you from here.
