Our Cyfle Cymru service helps people with substance misuse issues and/or mental health problems break down the barriers to employment, education or training.
With specialist one-to-one guidance from a peer mentor, we can help with employment support, including volunteering opportunities, and help and advice on how to search and apply for jobs.
Our service can help if you are aged between 16-24 and not in employment, education and training, you are aged 25 or over and long term unemployed or in recovery from substance misuse and/or have mental health problems.

Cyfle Cymru Brecon enjoyed a βWednesday Wellbeing Walkβ this week, although the sun didnβt shine, the wind and rain turned out to be very refreshing.
Even a short, brisk walk can increase our mental alertness, energy and positive mood. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can help reduce stress and anxiety.

We held a successful Employment Brunch at Station Court in Colwyn Bay last week, where we delivered presentations about our service to a variety of different employers within the area. This resulted in positive conversations about how we can work together to help more clients into employment.

Cyfle Cymru is supporting the recovery community by inviting talented service users to the βANEWβ focus group in Newtown.
Participants in the programme engaged with a European project via virtual meeting earlier this week, sharing ideas of what is needed for recovery to succeed.
Cyfle Cymru service users attended a focus group in Powys yesterday along with some local artists, where they worked on designing a community recovery programme led by Peer Mentors.
We enjoyed our first Employer Brunch today, arranged by our team in Brecon.
A number of local employers attended to find out about our service and how weβve changed the model to support more clients into employment. This resulted in lots of positive conversations about how we can do that more often locally.

Woman overcame alcohol misuse thanks to mentor scheme and takes on the role herself! A woman who overcame alcohol misuse with help from a peer mentor scheme in Wrexham is now working in the role of the person who helped support her.
Peer Mentors from our Cyfle Cymru team in Brecon have been scoping out some potential new sites in the hopes of developing a drop-in for clients in the area π
The pioneering team hope to manage the space in partnership with Reverend Rich Wooten from the Brecon Ministry Area with the aim of providing activities such as therapeutic crafts, community gardening and mindfulness sessions. We look forward to seeing this project develop π
Cyfle Cymru aims to support over 10,500 people who are in recovery from substance or alcohol misuse, or have mental ill-health, helping them into education, training or work.
The programme, the only Wales-wide service of its kind, helps participants develop their confidence by participating in activities and supports them to access training, qualifications and work experience or volunteering.

Here's our upcoming Christmas events in North Wales π
Cyfle Cymru Gwynedd held a cinema drop in for their service users and the structured recovery group came along. In this current economic climate, not everyone can afford to go to the movies, so it was great to see everyone enjoy the popcorn, sweets and cinema atmosphere. And the movie was Elf, a modern classic!
Cyfle Cymru Dyfed hosted a community warm space event on the 1st December in Haverfordwest, led by our volunteer service users who ran the day serving hot drinks and food.
Our volunteers service users made Christmas wreaths and Christmas cards using recycled materials that were donated for the day. All crafts been donated and are on display in Allied house for anyone who would like them!

We had a fabulous time making bird boxes, eating lunch around the fire and going for a lovely outdoor walk ππΆ It was great to learn all about the area and the wildlife that visit π¦π¦πΏππ

We would like to thank the North Wales Wildlife Trust for donating the pre-cut wooden disks from a local woodland which we were able to decorate whilst enjoying the sweet sounds of Christmas music to get us in the festive spirit πβοΈπ
