My baby girl is 10 today!!

What a 10 years it's been. A decade of love, laughter & learning.

From tiny terror to queen bee, my most reliable dog, I don't know what I'd do without you💜

To celebrate my princess, I've picked 10 of my favourite pictures of her over the last 10 years.

Love you more than words, unlimited kisses today🤣

Happy 5th Birthday to my problem child🤣

It's been a journey of tears, sacrifice, trust, making mistakes & learning together.

However, seeing you change before my eyes into the beautiful boy you are today has been worth it all.

It's hard to believe that you can cause so much trouble looking at these 2 pictures💀 The second being the day after you first arrived with us, so confused and untrusting of anyone but me🥺

My handsome giant, heres to the next 5. Maybe I'll be able to say at 10 you've mellowed out👀

I love you more than words, my Coopity Floop💙💙

Stick play warning ⚠️

It's mostly common knowledge know that Sticks cause more problems than they are worth for our dogs.

My family has had an awful week because of this tiny 2cm splinter. On Saturday my nan was playing Sticks with Milo as she does whenever she walks him, except after one of the throws he came back to her and he was bleeding a LOT.

Now we assumed as we couldn't see any wounds that he'd bitten his tongue and in a few hours would be fine. The bleeding stopped after about 40 minutes and he just slept the afternoon away.

He was fine on Sunday other than a little bit of reluctance to eat but again we pegged that down to his mouth being a little bit tender still.

Monday morning he woke up & the left side of his face was swollen, so we booked him into the vets and he had his face shaved which revealed a bruise so we went home with anti inflammatory meds and to keep an eye on him.

Tuesday he was still swollen but by the evening it had settled down so we thought we were on our way back to normal.

Well, we were wrong, on Wednesday we woke up and the swelling was now in his neck, so we booked him back into the vets and he was admitted for exploration of his mouth. Whilst under the vets found a small wound under his tongue, so he had an x-ray to determine if anything was there and how deep the wound was.

It's a 10cm deep wound which contained that tiny little splinter in the picture!

So heed our warning, it may not of happened to you yet but its seriously not worth the risk of it happening ever. Milo is now on 2 antibiotics, pain & anti inflammatory meds for a week & if he doesn't get better he will need a CT scan to make sure nothing has been missed.

We seriously cannot thank our amazing vets enough, they are worth their weight in gold💜

My OG Baby Dog...

Bella is 10 this year and to me she is still my crazy puppy who is wild & free.

In reality she's a mature lady with years of experience and life behind her. She's my reason for finding dog sports and training on a way more serious level.

She's the dog I owe everything to💜

31st December 2023...

The day thousands of dogs lives change in England & Wales.

I know emotions are high with the entire situation and my heart is beyond broken for you all.

Coop has been a part of our family since October 2020. He's been muzzled on every walk since November 2020. He is, as I've mentioned before, a bitey boy with strangers. So, in public spaces, he wears a muzzle. He's never managed a bite in the 3 years I've had him but he does have a bite history from previous homes.

If I do say so myself, his life is great🤣. He gets enrichment, natural treats, raw food, to sleep in my bed, cuddles whenever he wants, treats just because, training, walks, decompression days and his brother and sisters to play and cuddle with too.

Now I'm lucky that Coop doesn't have any restrictions set against him that force us to fit into a little box and I will remain ever grateful for that. But I just wanted to share how life will still be great for your furbabies as they are still part of your family.

I have a few little things up my sleeve for 2024 for your XL babies, so keep your peepers peeled for that.

I do, however, want to reiterate my point from a few weeks ago that I will not tolerate any people on my page who slander vets or rescue workers during this god-awful time. Su***de rates amongst vets and rescue staff are the highest in the animal industry and your words do matter. So choose them wisely. Regardless of your feelings, they do have to follow the legislation whether they like it or not.

If every vet in the country refused to euthanaise all the XL's, that just leaves room for unethical practices and suffering for those dogs - I'll leave the imagination with you on that, for what people will do if they can't access humane euthanasia.

My heart really does go out to all the dogs and families learning to cope with this new normal and I hope 2024 is a better year for you all💜

Demo Dog...

It's hard work being a demo/stooge dog. It's a lot of patience and impulse control between turns and then being able to show different stages on the skill the dogs are learning.

Sienna struggles with patience a lot - she's very impulsive and likes to be doing, not waiting🤣

So we always have enrichment for her to get stuck into.

Today was a Dino Bone and as you can see she is a happy girlie chomping away.

These are a great chew for all dogs, they crumle and don't splinter and have basically no smell(I am noseblind but this information is from reviews by others🤣)

P.S Our Black Friday sale is on until Monday if you're baby wants to try a Dino Bone too😍

Enzo...

We have been working with Enzo now for around 6 weeks. He is a resource guarder and has bitten his mum & dad many a time.

In the last 6 weeks we have been building up Enzo's confidence with the muzzle to allow our training to be done safely for all parties involved.

This was today's session, the longest Enzo has worn his muzzle, along with a longline for if he needs to be moved/redirected. Means he can now safely have sofa cuddles - one of his triggers.

I just couldn't not snap this photo of him asleep on dad's knee & being stroked at the same time😍

Me & Kat are immensely proud of Enzo. However it's also important for us to highlight that none of this would be possible without the hardwork & dedication to the training plan from Ally & Colin💜

We still have a little ways to go with his training but we have no doubt he will fly through it, just as he has so far🐕

Happy November 1st!

We have a lot coming up for the last 2 months of 2023 (who can even believe that?!)

For those that haven't noticed, we are now stocking LickiMat products, amongst other things, check out our 'Items for Sale' Highlight.

As a recap, we have 6 weeks of group classes left too this year😬

Our XL Bully discount is running until 31st December 2023 - please message us to enquire about this.

Our private sessions for the rest of this year will be uploaded this week aswell, so if you are waiting for more dates then keep an eye on the website - link in bio.

We've had an absolutely amazing year this year and next year's plans are already bigger and better🤪

Dog in a box...

Most of the things I've taught Sienna over the years has been through shaping.

This has taught her to have confidence in herself when making decisions.

It also created a robust relationship with training and myself and making mistakes during the process.

Yesterday after snaffling a few rougue treats out the box, she hopped straight in🤣

Which of course earned her a big laugh and rewards meaning the next time she sees an open box she's definitely more likely to hop in, which is fine by me!

Shaping is a fantastic way to enrich and grow your training skills and its something we teach in classes to allow our dogs the opportunity to work through behaviours and problem solve.

Muzzle Training!

Conditioning your dog to a muzzle is a hot topic right now in the dog community, especially for our Bullies.

Personally as a dog owner and advocate never mind as part of my profession, I believe all dogs regardless of size and breed should have muzzle training as a life skill, just as we teach recalls, lead walking, waits/stays, sits/downs etc.

All of my dogs are muzzle trained and Sienna is ever so beautifully modelling her muzzle that we use to train with.

Now I've always opted for Baskervilles as a brand and they've served me well & I will continue to utilise them with new dogs for training as they're cheap and cheerful.

However we are currently awaiting an order from .muzzle.movement with a few different sizes for the pack to try. Their company values and ethos is something I wholeheartedly stand behind and cannot wait to support with my guys sporting their muzzles.

We teach muzzle training at our The Good Dog Club Class as a core part of learning all the necessary life skills of being a good dog and owner🐕

Bully Breeds...

As the owner of 2 staffy mixes and the auntie to many more bully breeds of all shapes and sizes through daycare, boarding, fostering & training. The decision to add XL Bullies to the banned list through BSL has absolutely broken my heart.

This has taken me a few goes to write as this needed to come from my brain and not my heart.

I categorically do not agree with BSL and think it needs to be overturned and rather than clueless MP's deciding the fate of the dogs of our country alone. Industry professionals should be consulted on alternative means to protect the people of the country.

When I was younger, I was taught clear boundaries around our dogs and cats. They were to be left alone whilst sleeping and eating and had I ignored those boundaries and been bitten, it would of 100% been my own fault.

Somewhere in the last 26 years (that's how long I've been alive, well as of Wednesday 🤣) the narrative has changed. Any outward display of uncomfortablilty(is this even a word?) Or stress from our dogs is punished.

When we take away our dogs ability to appropriately communicate with us, all we leave them with is the option to bite/attack. I personally would much rather be growled at by a dog who needs me to back off than be bitten or worse.

BSL doesn't need to be a death sentence for the XL's but we need to follow the law even if it's outrageous as the only one that suffers at the end of the day is our dogs.

I've seen 100's of comments today alone stating they won't be muzzling, neutering, keeping their XL's on lead out of principle. All that is going to lead to is your dog being another number in the ever growing statistic of dogs being PTS by police.

Myself & Kat have come up with a plan to help those that want it, you will be getting over 50% discounted from our standard private training cost. We will be focusing on teaching your dog 5 main skills to cope with their new life filled with restrictions. All you need to do is message one of us. This offer will only be valid until the end of this year. So you have 14 weeks to get the help you need.

Face behind the craziness!

A lot of you know me by now but for those of you that don't here we go🤣

I'm Bec (or Auntie Bec for the doggos) I'm 25 and I've been dog mad for as long as I can remember.

Growing up we always had a variety of animals, dogs, cats, budgies, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and even chickens.

But my love for dogs and their behaviour has always had an extra special place in my heart.

I find it beyond fascinating and love nothing more than that moment when the penny drops with the dog/owner we are working with & with my own dogs too.

When I'm not immersed in everything dog, I am reading or bingeing something on Netflix or Disney +.

That's all the interesting bits about me🤣 & for those who haven't met me yet, hopefully we do soon🐕💜

Where has summer gone?

With the wet & cold weather this morning I figured today was the perfect day to share our favourite fleeces.

Patch&Pops handmake them, so they are fully bespoke in a range of designs. Which is perfect when you have dogs like mine who all have odd body shapes🤣

They are waterproof and keep your pups nice and clean which is great if you have a mud lover.

They come with 2 or 4 legs (we have the 4 legs) and are easy to put on and off.

We absolutely love them and the dogs are always nice and toasty warm when I take them off😍

We also have a little discount code in the link in our bio 💰

4 in the bed...

Let's talk about finding a trainer for your dog.

1. Not every trainer is going to be right for you & your dog, so speak to us all and find the right fit. You may even have to travel out of your local area.

2. YOU have to do the work, as trainers we are there to guide and give you the skills you need to help your dog.

3. Trust your gut, if something doesn't feel right it probably isn't.

4. Ask questions, even the small ones and if your trainer isn't happy answering them. Find a new one.

5. Content, is all their content just chopped down videos showing you the worst and the 'best' of the dog? (Avoid those trainers). Are they sharing the work in-between? Do they celebrate their clients? Do they actually have any training content at all(some don't)?

6. CPD, continued professional development. This comes in many forms but make sure your trainer is doing this as I can't even stress how important it is.

If you got to the end, thank you & well done🤣

Doggie Roll Call🐕

We have 5 resident dogs Bella, Oscar, Sienna, Chloe & Coop.

All wildly different but that's why they work together as a pack.

Bella is my oldest girl & my clever girl, she's even been on TV thanks to being an amazing agency.

Oscar is my steady guy, takes everything in his stride and just goes with the flow.

Sienna is my most active working dog, she comes with me pretty much everywhere, as she's happy as along as we are together - she's the pup you will see the most of, for this reason.

Chloe is my wild child, she walks to the beat of her own drum and that's why we love her.

Coop is my most 'difficult' dog. He is human aggressive but the biggest baby known to man with those he loves. He's a Romanian Rescue.

So that's the brat pack. All pictures taken by our favourite .ann_photography 🥰
