Recent client installation
The super talented beautifully crafted this stunning entrance hall feature piece including a live edge bench seat & hidden shoe storage, based on my design for a couple in Totnes. It has been handmade with natural oak and includes oversized black k***s for hanging coats on…but I’m sure my clients won’t want to as the piece is too gorgeous to hide! I love this piece 👌🏼

Looking for a model tabby cat!

Beautiful blooms & artichokes at Bath’s botanical garden this morning. I love visiting the beautiful city I was so lucky to study & live in…over 20 years ago. Omg how old am I 😆?!?

I am quickly taking 5 on my way to measure up at a new client’s house, not a bad commute really!

I discovered a fantastic & creative new wallpaper brand at the Design Central SW exhibition today. Just love how they have stepped outside the usual boundaries & gone all out. For my fellow migraine sufferers & anyone else interested - after years of trying & failing to find relief for my daily migraine headaches, today I’ve given the occipital nerve block a go 💉
Two injections to the occipital nerve area of the back of the head. The weirdest numbing of the back of the head. If it will help it should happen within 4-5 days so here’s hoping 🤞🏼
If this fails then it’s probably Botox next…shame they don’t inject it into wrinkles at the same time 😆
Have you had any success with these injections and / or other treatments ?? If so please do share 🙏

50-60sqm original plank pine flooring
100 years old, No nails, never been sanded, tongue & groove in perfect condition, original shellac. There is a mixture of 5.6m to 0.6 planks in varying lengths. Pm me for more deets 👍

My animal obsessed client’s barn renovation wouldn’t be complete without a pair of 1930 Jindrich Halabala bentwood armchairs expertly recovered & french polished in cowhide fabric and they are soooooo comfy to sit on.

I was a bundle of excitement driving to my client progress meeting this morning. Having designed the complete renovation of this beautiful barn in Totnes, we are about 90% there now & it is looking mighty fine.
These trusting, brave & just plain awesome clients have stuck 100% to my design and the house is finally coming together.
Just a few more items (lamps, artwork & some bespoke storage) to go & then I’ll share a big reveal of it all. But for now here we the striking 🐄 wallpaper in the hallway!

Gulp 🤞🏼 so I’ve just self-injected my first dose of what my neurologist said could potentially be ‘life-changing’ migraine medication.

The medication blocks a protein called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). CGRP may cause inflammation and pain in the nervous system of people who have migraine attacks.

If you have chronic migraine like me i.e. intense headache pain and other symptoms for 15 days or more every month, CGRP migraine treatment may help prevent migraine attacks and make them less severe. At the moment you have to self-fund and it’s not cheap but the NHS will sometimes prescribe it (I will find out more about this).

So here goes…I’m taking it for 3 months. Could this be the beginning of my life, one where I am headache free? Since the age of 7 migraine headaches have controlled my life & now I’m hoping to take back control of my life 🤞🏼🙏🤞🏼

Dream client job & working with an old school friend to help her and her family choose everything from colour schemes to window dressings & flooring as well as planning room layouts and sourcing furniture.
I also designed sideboards, desks & other bespoke pieces that expertly crafted from oak and birch plywood. Some of the largest and most stunning curtains I’ve ever commissioned were handmade and installed by my wonderfully talented maker Becky Powell.
The lovely couple and Tom are featured in their beautiful new home in this month’s edition of . Oh the good life 💙

For 35 years migraines have been a dominant force in my life, pretty much determining what I can do, where I can go and what I can eat & drink.

Migraine affects me and so many others e v e r y single day. I often have cancel last minute but my nearest & dearest don’t mind, they know & love me so understand the reason why. I can’t tell you the number of parties I’ve missed out on!

Recently I’ve been taking a mixture of drugs, which have really been helping. But this has taken me years and years and years of to-ing & fro-ing to doctors and hospitals and eventually having to go private. Unfortunately I seem to have developed a new type of migraine this last week…so it’s not untimely that this eeek is migraine awareness week.

Migraine is one of THE MOST DIBILITATING CONDITIONS IN THE WORLD. It needs to be spoken about, it needs more research, it needs more care to be given to sufferers.

Just waiting for the new central pendant light fitting & furniture to arrive…I love seeing how a home comes to life after all the months of planning 🙌🏼
