At the Slaithwaite Duck race - what a massive, lovely, tidy, sunny, happy community event the team have created - here with the Families Togther stall - info avaibible, making connections and offering children’s games and shady chill out space for all. Got a bit of spare money and want to support a local project. The council has a scheme where they part match local fundraising efforts- live right now is a bowling green in Marsden, the Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival, a river side path in Honley and a growing project in Golcar.
Check them out via this link. If they hit the target they get money from the Council too.

Here’s where the bigger grants are, this is a very focused scheme, it’s a West Yorkshire grant pot using levelling up funds run by Groundwork for our Yorkshire Mayor or as it’s called West Yorkshire Combeined Authority. Up to £20k per application and you have to pass a survey monkey test to get the form.
The devil is in the detail and people over use the grant programme title “community grants” for many of these schemes to confuse us. This is less about community than employability to be honest.
More info here but as ever we are happy to help.

The community grants programme also on this link is open till the end of June
