Now, to complete our experiments with our kiln!
Behind the scenes at TWiG our girls set up resources. Bobbie is chief tester of all activities and resources. She's currently taste testing bird food.
Just a quick reminder that we have a community food box in the woods.
Please help yourselves!

A couple more axe head cleaned up and ready to be hung. These will make a nice addition to the collection at the woods with longer handles.
Working on our collection of tools to use in the woodland. This was axe that was brought back to life by tom. Any old and broken tools found lying around can often be repaired and cared for so they can have a new lease of life.
Another wonderful week at TWiG is over and so many mud cakes were baked!!
Bird spotting, extreme jumping, game playing, habitat making, painting kind of day....and all in the beautiful sunshine.
Lots of creative fun was had with printing today at TWiG. Monoprints and repeat prints made with leaves and plants.
Simple sticky lint rollers make wonderful prints when leaves are stuck to them and rolled in ink.
This week so far has all been about building and construction.
The treehouse has had some amazing work done to it and the children have experimented with pulleys creating a transport system up into the trees.
Small parts play has been focused on construction techniques.
Our treehouse is coming along nicely thanks the efforts of some very imaginative and industrious Forest Schoolers.
Our youngest Forest Schoolers once again pave the way showing us the value of community.
Tom and I are going on a cob building workshop next week.
Looking forward to meeting new people and learning a new skill
Our youngest Forest Schoolers once again pave the way showing us the value of community and friendship.
Today Tom was asked to teach some amazing advanced techniques.
Axe grinding, sharpening and rehandling.
We're so impressed with the interests and skills our wonderful Forest Schoolers are developing.
It's been an amazingly productive day in the woods. Fairy wings made, fairy houses embellished and decorated, playing together, eating together and learning together.
And then there was the axe work....
Wow!!
Hi all, the gas works on the road have finished so we can now access the woods via Cringleford again. Hope to see you all in the woods soon
We hope everyone had a wonderful Spring holiday.
We're back in the woods this week as normal.
See you soon
Once again the resident Great T**s have decided to nest in our post box on the gate to the woodland.
Please be careful not to move the gate.
The Mummy bird is very protective and will shout at you if you get to close.
HI all, unfortunately due to road closures around the woodland, the only way in and out is via Intwood lane, past Intwood Farm. For most of you the easiest way to do this will be to head down the A11 and turn off at station lane by NR commercials and follow Intwood lane from there. an alternative to this would be to come through Swardeston common and onto Intwood lane from that direction.
I will update everyone when roads reopen and make the journey in easier.
Thanks from The Wilderness Grove and all of our team
National autism day innit. Nearly missed it!
It used to feel like a huge thing because working out how a brain works from the outside is really tricky but once we started listening to autistic adults the Tetris pieces started falling in line with fewer gaps and more needs met.
These days we just rattle along with each family members’ needs and preferences, making sure we all get looked after.
There are so many good places to learn from. Message me if you’d like recommendations. But start with listening to the autistic person about what they need.
If we can figure out the tea and coffee preferences of every family member and friend along with their favourite mug then we can learn people’s sensory preferences.
Nature Connection
Our wonderful Forest Schoolers know how to appreciate their environment.
Our TWiG adults know how to play!!
We've got quite a lot of timber to process ready for next winter.
Time to build a large log store!
We had another pile of of fresh pine chipping delivered yesterday.
One of our wonderful Forest Schoolers looked at me strangley as I picked up a handful and took a big sniff with a smile on my face.
I offered my hand to him and he sniffed..."smells like floor cleaner!"
Pine Fresh!
Thanks to Charlie, Martie and Malcom... and of course our incredibly hardworking team at TWiG, the polebarn is complete!!
It's looking a bit empty at the moment but I'll find lots of wonderful resources to fill it!!
All this lovely rain has created amazing sensory, cooperative play and woodland management learning opportunities.
