A VA is a freelance person, providing administrative, technical, or creative services (usually part-time, ad-hoc or hourly.) Working remotely, anywhere in the world 🌏

Who is a VA for?

All sorts of people. From self-employed individuals, small business owners, start-ups, entrepreneurs, HNWI, established businesses and even everyday employed people. Usually, those that are ‘time-poor.’ 🌏

What does a VA do?

What can’t we do? VAs do all sorts within the scope of admin, technical and creative support. The list is genuinely never-ending! Services vary on the type of VA and their expertise. 👩‍💻

This really had me dancing 'round the kitchen this morning!

Kicking off Monday by taking a look at how I collaborated with the wonderful client, Eli Brecher to bring her eBook and lead magnet visions to life!

Who is the client..?

Eli Brecher is a Harley Street, Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) specialising in gut health and presenter of The Gut 360 Podcast.

What was the brief…?

Designing a series of eBooks that were on brand, topic informative and delivered on the series plan that Eli wanted to provide her clients with. From copywriting, design, image sourcing and creation of the eBooks. Devising lead magnets and copy for the promotion and re-purposing of content.

Evoke VA continues to support Eli regularly with the digital design of lead magnets and client resources.

Why does this testimonial have me happy dancing in my kitchen on a Friday morning…(more so than normal, if that is even possible?) 💃🏻

I cried and had a mini meltdown 😭 and not because I turned 30 last week!

To celebrate the big birthday, we decided to take some leave (you know, because working for yourself means never actually finishing work) and we hit the slopes in France ⛰️

Insert the daunting facts…

1. I have never skied
2. I hate the feeling of being suspended in air or a sudden drop
3. I actually don’t like the cold that much
4. My partner can ski, and pretty well! (Which he will hate me for saying!)

So, the first few days were great- lessons on green runs and then upping the ante with small blues, I felt like a right whiz! But on the Thursday morning, the fear kicked in 💀 I was my own worst enemy!

I panicked on a ski lift, was falling constantly, couldn’t make a turn and felt useless. I hadn’t forgotten what I had been taught but the unease of those lifts and the adult fear of feeling silly meant I was holding back and inevitably, it was effecting what I was doing.

Mid slope…I had a tantrum 😫 The skis were kicked off, I was ugly crying and I slid all the way down on my backside! It was not pretty! I couldn’t understand why I had started off well and now felt like I was going backwards.

Insert the problem…

I wasn’t committing and I wasn’t being confident in myself ❌

So I took the rest of the afternoon to sulk with my pal - Mr Aperol Spritz 🍹

The next morning I had two choices - continue to be terrified and then regret not giving it another go. Or, throw myself down a run with the confidence that I knew how to turn, use parallel, and stop, and actually commit to learning to to ski!

The result?
I went down a red run (photo for proof with red poles!) three times that day, even dragging my far too experienced fiancé down it. I felt phenomenal!

So I’ve decided…I’m taking this lesson and spending the next decade of my 30’s with the same approach. Commit wholly and have the confidence 💪
