J+S SUBSEA STRENGTHEN MANAGEMENT TEAM WITH INTERNAL PROMOTION

J+S Subsea have strengthened their management team thanks to the internal promotion of Thomas Hutchinson to the role of Business Development Manager. This is a key appointment in J+S Subsea’s growth strategy and is part of an internal refresh which will increase operational efficiency. It is also a great example of the development opportunities which are available to J+S Subsea personnel.

In his new role, Thomas will continue to create and develop meaningful relationships with clients and vendors, whilst driving sales and helping to continue growth.

Thomas said: “Having started with the company as a part-time workshop assistant almost 11 years ago, this is a really proud moment for me. The company is in a great position to go out and make a difference in the market, and I’m excited to play part in that. J+S Subsea is full of amazing people and great characters and I’m really looking forward help drive this company forward.”

Exciting news for J+S Subsea!

We were thrilled to welcome Decom Mission’s Operations Director, Callum Falconer, and Kenny Taylor from Zero Waste Scotland to our facilities last week.
It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our J+S Subsea Legacy Locker initiative and demonstrate our capabilities and sustainability plans for the future. Together, we are committed to promoting environmental sustainability and reducing waste.

Callum commented “J+S Subsea fly the flag for sustainability and circularity and its great to see Zero Waste Scotland getting involved and genuinely willing to help where they can. I pointed out to Kenny that many of our members have firmly embraced circularity so we will get Kenny back on the road soon to follow up”

J+S Subsea had the pleasure of attending the Power of Energy Charity Gala 2022, while raising vital funds for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

Our Chairman Matthew Blair Blair presented a paper on Legacy Locker and our Reuse journey at the 22nd North Sea Decommissioning Conference in Stavanger.

Legacy Locker still does what it has always done, providing support to the subsea opex market. Additionally, through our more recent work on life cycle assessment and savings in carbon footprint through reuse, we can offer our clients information on scope 3 savings which feeds directly into their ESG reporting requirements.

J+S Subsea was delighted to receive an invitation to attend the Global Underwater Hub to welcome Minister, Senator the Hon. Lisa Cummins and Ms. Debra Dowridge - Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Business from Barbados, as part of a visit to Aberdeen to learn about subsea capability being used in offshore wind.

A wonderfully engaging meeting with lots of spirited conversation about the prospects for Scottish and Barbadian enterprises to collaborate, share expertise, and exchange skills.
