2023 was a good year, but 2024 will be an one - and there is even going to be a District Camp!!

Last weekend our team at Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre ran a brilliant Halloween Spooktacular for 600 young people from all over the UK.

What made it extra special was the support we had from Beck Evans Farm in Sidcup.

Danny Evans donated 150 pumpkins to the young people - what a great community champion!!

Come join us for St Georges Day Fun!

Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre are hosting a St Georges Day camp/activity day for us 21st - 23rd April.

Its being subsidised to make it a totally fun and exciting experience as we open up - costs just £10 to camp and £5 for a day pass on the Saturday.

On Sunday 23rd we will be officially opening South East Londons best kept secret - our new Distirct Camp @ Cudham.

In the UK 12 under 35 year olds die every week on average from sudden cardiac arrest.

At Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre we want to get a defib/AED to make sure we are ready for any eventuality.

I know I bang on a lot about Cudham - it is our District Campsite after all that's been saved for Bexley young people and others, we are open and running and so a defib is needed. And we are here for the next 100 years...at least 😉

Just in time for Christmas, We will soon be launching an amazing campaign for you to leave a memory at Cudham.

Now run by us here in Bexley for our local young people, Cudham has an amazing history of Scout and Guide camping that stretches back almost 100 years.

So keep an eye out, and help us to keep rolling to support the young people of Bexley, Bromley, Kent and beyond!!

Cudham is uniquely placed for things like Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, due to the great routes around it. We are also VERY competitive on price.

AED Appeal - Help us 'Be Prepared' - in case we need it.

None of us ever know when we might need one, but a small donation by you will mean that Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre and the local community in Cudham will have a local AED in case its needed.

Volunteers are the backbone of any group or charity.

We are so lucky at our District Campsite to have a growing group of Cudham Crew.

From an old Bexley favourite John Baxter who's the Site Admin (and reception manager) to the brilliant team who joined us yesterday to get winter ready.

Did we mention they are Award winning too?

These aren't just volunteers, the Cudham Crew are a growing family....and we like a good bbq ;)

Planning a Duke of Edinburgh Expedition for next year?

Whether is Scouts, Guides, Air Cadets, Army Cadets, Police Cadets or your school, we have lots of people booking in for DoE camps next Summer.

With a range of camping areas, accommodation blocks (for teachers and leaders), great showers, toilets and a shop - we are placed perfectly for all your camping needs!

With Cudham now up and running, it's great to welcome so many people back on site.

It's also great to see the return of benches.

We recently saw this new bench being installed in memory of Brenda Miller at Silver Birches, placed to make sure THAT view can be appreciated.

If you would like to donate a bench, put in a picnic table or find a new way to remember someone special to you (we have a scheme coming v v soon) then do email [email protected] and he can help.

We are here for at least 99 years, so it will get used .

Thank you for joining us at YOUR Campsite. With Downe being sold to a private company now, we have been working hard, volunteer led of course, to make sure our young people in Bexley, Bromley and beyond have an amazing place to camp and enjoy.

Our bookings are doing brilliantly, in fact Summer 2023 is looking, especially with Duke of Edinburgh and Scout/Guide Summer Camps.

Day 2 of at Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre - breakfast at different groups was all up to scratch!

We had some VIPs visit today to see what we are doing as a District on the site, local MP Gareth Bacon MP, our local London Assembly Member Peter Fortune, Mayor of Bromley, Deputy Mayor of Bexley our local Councillors from Bromley Council council and some from London Borough of Bexley and last but not least, the Deputy Lieutenant of Bexley Dave Easton.
