Hand knitted and hand sewn items

I have tried off and on for the best part of 40 years to learn to crochet but it was just something that I could not master.

I few months ago I signed up for a beginners crochet class at my local store Sew Yarn Crafty & Studio and thanks to the patience and help from Aileen and the rest of our little group of beginners I now have mastered the stitches.

This blanket started off as one of our practice squares and over the weeks I have been adding to it and it is now almost big enough to cover my king size bed now.

Just shows, you are never too old to learn a new skill. Just need to try something different from a blanket! Watch this space - maybe!!

A lovely big wool delivery this afternoon. At long last this little reindeer will get a body knitted and her second ear sewn on!

Here are a few photos showing the process of creating one of my little critters. This is the first time I have done a couple of dogs. I am happy with them but still think I like the teddies best.

Linsey has had her sewing machine out and has been creating some beautiful new items. All in such lovely touchy, feely materials.

You can find these listed for sale in our Etsy shop - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WillowLodgeCraftshop?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1212459168.

How gorgeous are these mini balls that I picked up this week at Skeins and Bobbins in Kinross. This couple of little teddies should have beautiful little outfits at some point next week.

This wool comes from a mill just outside Peterhead where I was brought up and are available from Wee Country Yarns in Alloa. Just so many beautiful wools from all over Scotland now available and these little mini balls are just perfect for the little projects that I knit. x

I usually tend to knit rabbits and teddies in pretty little dresses but I was somewhat taken out of my comfort zone when someone asked me if I could knit a Teddy for a little boy. I am now so happy that I did, but these little trainers were a challenge to lace up!

Teddy pattern, clothes and trainers by Little Cotton Rabbits, hat is by Mary Jane’s tearoom. x
