Having cattle on the farm now means we need to TB test them, something we haven’t had to do before for the goats! We will get the cows back into the crush on Friday to read the results🤞🏻🐄

A view unseen for at least the last twenty years! Looking down over our new herbal ley pasture, which we took out of wheat production last year for the goats to enjoy 🐐🌈🌱

We’ve been digging through the archives and found a number of old photos & plans from the 1980s/90’s of how the farm used to look…👀🐑🐄
When the gravel extraction finished, the land was grazed by our family’s sheep and dairy cows. But since the early 2000’s when the dairy closed, the farm moved away from ruminants and focused on arable cropping with the grassland left as hay meadows.
In this time, the absence of livestock have allowed some scrub and woodlands to thrive, but the cropped areas are low yielding.
Our vision for the future is to: ✔️reintroduce grazing livestock (alongside our goats!) on an extensive system
✔️reverting the poorer cropped areas back to pastures
✔️restore historic fields
✔️plant woodland and hedgerows
✔️continue to let nature thrive…All in a days work 😅

So many special places to take a breather around the estate ✨🧘🏼‍♀️
We have a real variety of habitats here on the farm…the old gravel pits were dug out in the 1960’s & have naturally regenerated into beautiful wildlife havens. Isn’t nature wonderful? 🌳🌷🐸🦋🐝🦆
