Update: well, 7 months after the demise of 'Distant Lands'...I am still hard at work putti g a new 80s band together. 2 singers down and 6 months of rehearsals later has shown me this 80's stuff is pretty hard to pull off! We missed the spring gigs and now the summer, but remain optimistic for the autumn. Thanks to all the pubs that have been incredibly patient and supportive. We will be back...I hope, LOL! 80's rule.

Hi all.
Steve here, the bassist and joint founder of Distant Lands.
As you may all now be aware the band disbanded in December 2022.
Seb and Brent have gone on to pursue their own individual projects and until now I’ve kept my latest project under wraps.
I have joined the established covers band Jukebox Protocol. They are a great bunch of seasoned musicians who perform popular hits from the 60s to date. Everything from Motown and ska, classic, indie and punk rock to modern rock and pop, something for everyone.

Hi all, Seb here. (singer) We may not be out playing as a band anymore but we are all continuing playing music in our own individual projects. Personally I'm working on recording some material. This is a song I originally wrote for Distant Lands but we never got round to recording. Warning: it does have a swear word! 😱 If you like it please subscribe to my YouTube channel for more songs as I get them recorded.

Happy New Year! We just wanted to give a big shout out to big supporters of 80s music and huge contributers to Cornwall's communities!
We will be playing our last gig of the year at the Star Inn Penzance tomorrow night so come along if you need a final 2022 fix of 80s synth pop. After this one we will be taking a few weeks out for family time and to work on some new songs.
Next gig is the Star Inn PZ on Sat 3rd Dec.

Really sorry folks but due to unforseen issues at the venue we won't be playing at the Grapes Alehouse in Falmouth this Friday. Instead we will be strutting our stuff at the Golden Lion in St. Ives!

Someone's got a shiny new toy! 😁
Thank you to the amazing turnout at the Engine Inn summer festival tonight. We're really sorry that we had to cut it a little short - Seb's keyboard died (probably fatal) and you really can't play Blue Monday and Enola Gay without a keyboard! But we muddled through and you stuck with us. We will be playing at the Swordfish, Newly on the 10th September and Seb will have a shiny new keyboard. 🤔 Maybe a different colour....

What a fantastic gig today at the fabulous Pirate Inn, Penzance.
Thanks to the massive turnout of people who came and supported, sang and danced the afternoon/evening away.
Lovely after gig meal/drinks with the band and families.

Today we have reached the marvellous milestone of 500 followers. As a band we’ve been together just over 12 months and would like to thank you all for the fabulous support so far. Who’d of thought the 80s were still so popular? Looking forward to seeing you at our next gig near you soon.😀

Those that see us know we play a few Depeche Mode tunes. Last week we lost the great Andy Fletcher, their legendary keyboard player, our hearts go out to his family and we endeavour to keep his spirit alive whenever we perform his great songs.
Tyacks rocked last night! Probably our best gig to date. Here's everyone singing along on the last song of the night.

This week's gig was a very different pace from the last one! We enjoyed a very chilled afternoon/early evening of music to a large crowd at the Pirate Inn Penzance. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and a special shout out to Vez's (Think I got that right?) stag do who were the most polite and best behaved stag do ever! But biggest thanks to everyone who put umbrellas up over us when the rain started especially Harry (I prefer to be called Gary) who held an umbrella over my head for over 20 mins and is now my official best mate!

We are absolutely gutted to announce that we won't be playing at the Ukraine fundraiser in Newquay tomorrow night. One of us has tested positive for Covid. ☹️ The concert will still be going ahead with the other three bands.
