We think we live in one of the best parts of the country. Send us pictures of your favourite locations and complete some of your photography badge at the same time.
From tomorrow we will be working with Christchurch Scouting to bring you even more ideas to go towards your badge work. This could help if you are not so keen on Zoom meetings or if your section are not meeting online. Just don't forget to tell your leaders so they can sign it off.
Our Christmas message. One word “hope” here’s hoping to a more normal 2021
Stay safe and Merry Christmas
Christchurch Scouts would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas.
This has certainly been a strange and challenging year. No one could have predicted the unfortunate events 2020 would bring. We have been as upset as you in cancelling so many of our annual events, including camping trips, fun days and sleepovers. But we have also enjoyed seeing so much positivity. People fundraising, adapting to scouting online, supporting the NHS as well as our virtual St George’s day service. The positivity and community spirit is what we need to remember.
We would like to thank all our volunteers including, leaders, committee members, and district supporters who have showed so much scouting spirit to keep the wheels turning. So many have enjoyed the return of face to face scouting in the run up to Christmas and we really hope this can continue as we head in to 2021. But a huge thank you must go to all our youth members, you have inspired us the most in everything you have done and you should all be very proud.
This Christmas let’s spare a thought for all those that can’t be with us this year, all the emergency services who continue to protect us and anyone who may be spending Christmas alone.
We have hope that 2021 will allow us to try and continue to get back to a more normal way of life and let us carry on providing
Merry Christmas, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Last week it was great to get involved with the young leaders on one of the online training modules and lovely to see one of the Explorers completing all their training.
Worth a watch. Remember to pause at 11am for 2 minutes
Pause This year, we’re asking the nation to pause - mute your phone, close your laptop, switch off the telly – for just two minutes and pay your respects to our Ar...
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
- in the last 100 years, over half a billion men and woman have taken the Scout promise.
Saw this on another page. What a great idea and so simple to make
So sad that we are back to red. Such a shame as so many people have put such hard work into making everything possible. Scouting will be back soon so make sure you stay involved.
Following the announcement of a four-week lockdown in England from Thursday 5 November, the National Youth Agency (NYA) has now issued guidance about what this means for all youth sector activity. From tomorrow, Scouts and all other youth activities will move to Red readiness level.
This decision by the Government means that there can be no face-to-face activity with young people or adult volunteers. Only online meetings can be delivered until further notice.
We will be posting some different activities on this page for all sections to keep you busy during this time. We will be back soon, in the meantime look out for each other, stay safe and we will get through this.

Have you started meeting back? Or are you looking forward to meeting back? Things may be very different at the minute but we would love to hear what you enjoy most about Scouting
We are all here for each other. There is always someone that you can talk to, and remember it’s okay to not be okay
Scouting has always taught me to appreciate the smaller things in life and to get out in the open, anyone else love where we live? A nice early morning walk today

Today marks the 75th Anniversary of VE day. 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of carnage and destruction had come to an end and millions of people took to the streets and pubs to celebrate peace, mourn their loved – ones and to hope for the future, but not forgetting those still in conflict until 15th August when it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, effectively ending World War II.
When we can, let’s try and support as many local businesses as possible. We always do well out of our local companies so let’s return the favour.
Great advice from Avon Tyrrell. Must admit I haven’t tried all of these.
An evening Campfire is one of our favourite things to do at Avon Tyrrell, whether it's singing with one of our amazing groups or chilling out with our colleagues and friends at UK Youth
Check out some great recipes to try and let us know what your favourite is? http://ow.ly/jFXw50zqRE1
Well done to fellow Youth Commissioner Joey Hurst DYC who has made it onto the news with his extreme necker flipping skills.
