Once known as Muchall-in-Mar, Castle Fraser is an elaborate, five-storey Z-plan castle which was constructed in 1575 by the 6th Laird of Fraser, Michael Fraser, although there is archaeological evidence of an older square tower dating from around 1400 or 1500 within the current construction.
The castle is located near Kemnay in the Aberdeenshire region of Scotland, and stands in over 300 acres of impressive grounds. Castle Fraser has been home to several notable Jacobites, including Charles, 4th Lord Fraser. It’s rich and exciting history makes it the perfect castle to add to your itinerary while in Scotland.

The Granary
The Granary is surrounded by farmland 1 km from the fishing village of Portgordon. It is private and suitable for Children to play games outdoors.
The Granary offers spacious living with panoramic views of farmland. The large dining kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, drying racks and very large fridge/freezer. It also has a large couch to relax on. The wood panelled lounge has a stove, four comfortable armchairs and a couch.
Morayshire is famous for golden barley fields used to supply around 50 Whisky distilleries in the region. These all conduct free tasting tours. All along the coast are Fishing Villages, beaches, great places to cycle and walk and ancient Castles.
Spey Bay Dolphin Centre is one of Europe's most spectacular Nature reserves full of Sea life and every kind of bird. If you enjoy golf or fishing there are an abundance of opportunities.
