A big thank you to Elaine Tomkins and Bianca Schofield who have done a brilliant job for us today while I’m recovering.
From Bianca Schofield :
Today Selby sniffers ran a level one Alert trial judges by Elaine Tomkins at Hambleton Village Hall. This search was a scenario based search, looking for gun oil. The first place winner by 2 points was Bianca Schofield with Fire, also gaining a clean sweep. Second place was Fiona Rayner with Otis, also gaining a clean sweep and the third place winner was Sara Bratonozic with Abbie. This team also had a clean sweep.
Then in the afternoon there was the very first Level 2 proactive trial judge by Bianca Schofield. The two elements were building and area search. The dogs were searching for both gun oil and clove odour. The winner of this trail was Janet Nero with Darcy, who also had a clean sweep. Second place (and there was only 1 point in it) was Elaine Tomkins and Florence. Again gaining a clean sweep.
We had a number of people running dogs not for completion, these dogs performed really well.
Well done everyone. I hope you enjoyed your day.

**ANNOUNCEMENT**
I am very pleased and excited to announce that Nicola Park has agreed to join me as an Instructor on the Selby Sniffers Team.
Nicola has been with me for a number of years with her Yellow Lab, Jackson, and is coming to the end of her City & Guilds Detection Dog Instructors Course at The College Of Scent Dogs LTD and will qualify later this year.
I’m sure we all wish Nicola well on her journey with us.
EXCITING NEWS!!
I’m a bit busy at The College of Scentdogs LTD and have started a Mantrailing City & Guilds Course. This will mean that Selby Sniffers will have one of the first City and Guilds Mantrailing Instructors in the U.K.
The normal College high standards haven’t changed meaning my Instruction comes from those who know how to do it right.
This will add MANTRAILING to our Scentwork Courses.
NOW ISN’T THIS GOING TO BE FUN!!
Our Introduction Course is now on BOOKWHEN. Just 6 places available on this special intro priced 2 day course at Eden Camp.
Today was the Sniffers Get Together. No formal training as such, just a group of Friends doing what we love…having a good natter, helping each other train our dogs while drinking tea and coffee and enjoying finger food.
