Choosing Your Wedding Party...

The thing to remember is the people you choose are the people you'll spend a great majority of time with on your special day.

You'll get ready with them, they'll be the ones with you for those butterfly moments just before the ceremony and they'll be the ones on call for you throughout the day, so here are some points to consider when choosing them.

1. Do you actually want them in your wedding party or are you choosing them because you feel you 'have to'? You don't want any regrets so go with your gut!

2. Have you got a good mix of sensible and fun? You want people who'll make you smile but you also want someone who has a tissue to hand and a supportive word to share when you're overcome with emotion. Balance is key.

3. Between them, do they know the majority of your guests? This is not essential but always helps with greeting/directions/general vibe creation, so a party with someone who knows the families as well as someone who knows friends is a benefit.

4. Are they ride or die and willing to get their hands dirty if required? Hopefully with a strong supplier team and a planner you won't need to call on them too much but selecting people who'll be there when needed is key!

Remember to choose the people you actually like and want alongside you for your special day, it really will make all the difference!💗

Yesterday you guys helped me crown these delightful embroidered napkins as the winner of our Favourite Little Detail of the year, with 55% of the vote!

My Top Three Little Details from Our 2023 Weddings...

🌟G&C's Es**rt Cards - each guest located their named bottle of sloe gin, brewed specially by the couple, on the reverse of the name tag was a diagram showing where they were sat at the U-shape dinner table.

🌟D&M's Bespoke Napkins - embroidered with the couple's beautiful monogram and each guest's name, these napkins made the most beautiful & unique alternative to a place card, and a lovely keepsake.

🌟T&R's Wedding Fans - hand painted with Sicilian designs in keeping with the wedding stationery, these gorgeous fans not only directed guests to their ceremony seat but also kept guests cool day and night.

Continued Learning, Collaboration and Community are Key!

I benefited from all three of these important things on a recent work trip to Sicily.

Not only did I get to further my learning by seeing some beautiful new venues & by meeting loads of lovely local suppliers to collaborate with but I also got to grow my community by enjoying this wonderful experience with this amazing bunch of planners!

Alongside lots of fun and laughter, we had some really interesting conversations surrounding how we each work, charge, operate, and these honest conversations benefited each of us with more knowledge and confidence.

My top tip for this Thursday is that we can grow and learn much more effectively together than against each other!💗

Dining under a festoon canopy as you look out to the beautiful Sicilian coast really makes quite the perfect setting for your first meal as a married couple!

We love it when the wedding stationery gets a gorgeous flatlay captured like this, seeing how cohesively all the pieces fit together.

For D&M we designed a full suite of stunning stationery with carrying the same rose and thistle design throughout the set.

We wanted the English rose and Scottish Thistle to be intertwining just as D (our English Rose) & M (our Scottish Thistle) were becoming.

Charlotte absolutely nailed the brief as always, added the silver foiling to elevate the design & Annie captured it all perfectly in this stunning image, adore her floral placement to bring it all together!

Bridal Prep in Style & Comfort!

The day goes by so quickly so enjoy these precious hours with your fav girlies!

Oh and Top Tip, if you are getting ready in the same room that you'll be spending your wedding night in, then definitely book a room service refresh once the bridal prep is complete and you're off enjoying the wedding. Stuff just seems to end up Everywhere during prep!

Today I am back in the UK office after almost a month on the continent planning and managing events in Europe.

I am very fortunate that my work takes me to some beautiful countries and I'm thankful to have locations across 4 countries, England, Italy, Germany & Grenada, that allow me to be based locally & aid my work as a destination wedding planner.

Happy One Year Anniversary E&D!💗

I can't believe it's been a year since this lovely couple said I do. From the heartfelt church ceremony, to the best confetti moment, to the impromptu UV limbo, this was a day filled with so much joy and love.

I'll never hear Taylor Swift and not think of E's speedy evening dress change, no joke it took her all of one minute to change into that fun party dress and she was back in time for her fav song! She quite literally shook it off!

E&D, I hope you guys have a great day celebrating your anniversary and I wish you many more years of happiness together.💗
