Fabulous news! Our high strength limoncello "Lemon Bomb" has won gold in the prestigious IWSC (International Wine and Spirits Awards). This is probably the most import competition in the global drinks industry.

So our beautiful Lemon Bomb, hand made by Dawn and Justin Birch in the lovely Wadhurst, East Sussex, is now one of the best limoncellos in the World 😀

Funnily enough we are sold out. A new batch will be ready on 14th June and you can pre-order on our website birchgin.com now.

I had a lovely time making our delicious G&Ts and cocktails in the Treehouse at The Chelsea Flower Show today. The Treehouse that Blue Forest have created is amazing (I really want one) and it’s so cool of them to have a Birch Gin cocktail bar. I was lucky enough to meet some lovely celebrities including the legends Jonathan Davies and Jo Whiley (they and their families are delightful) and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

For a refreshing summer drink why not try our Sumatra Sunset.
50ml Birch Sumatra coffee Gin
A liberal dash or two of Angostura bitters
150ml soda water
A sprig of Rosemary (squash it into the sides of the glass to release the flavour)

Such a great morning at Wadhurst Farmers’ Market today!

Wow, what an amazing December! We’ve sold out of Lemon Bomb, Cinna Bomb, Christmas Spirit, Sussex Oaked Gin and Aquavit and our staple Birch Gin range has been more in demand than ever. More of our outstanding high strength gin, liqueurs and Aquavit are being made, along with a Sloe and Bullace Gin for 2024, and in the meantime we’d like to thank all of our customers for your support. THANK YOU!

We are ready to release a new flavoured vodka and have three choices, we’d like your feedback as to which one you’d prefer.

1) Mixed berry. A mix of raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants.

2) Beetroot and subtle spice. Perfect for your Bloody Mary’s, but also superb with tonic or neat. Savoury yet sweet.

3) Cherry. Not ”Cherry Bomb” liqueur but a delicious cherry vodka that is delightful with lemonade, tonic or even coke!

Each year thousands of entries are judged by around 400 food and drink experts. Here’s what they had to say about Birch Navy Strength Gin:

“An unashamedly intense and bold gin with intense orange and fennel flavours. Strong and punchy, concentrated and juniper forward, the ABV feels well integrated. A clever, character filled gin.

The sweetness on the palate is immediate and yes, suggestive of orange or a sweeter-than-lemon citrus, with lightly aniseed notes to follow. Certainly hot at Navy Strength, but still approachable. On the rocks, there's brightness and a softened spirit. Louching with tonic, while the sweetness of our full-sugar tonic rather elevates the all-over sweetness, there remains a concomitant richness of flavour and aromatic impact. The mouthfeel is liquorous, full and satisfying and the finish delivers fennel notes a-plenty. A very desirable Navy Strength London Dry with a twist.”

Birch Gin is 30 months old today!
I started making gin by macerating juniper and other botanicals in vodka in Singapore 12 years ago. I loved creating different recipes and in time a hobby became a dream and then ….
30 months ago we produced our first batch of 200 bottles of Birch Gin, distilled in a 50 L copper pot still. Thanks to friends and family they sold super fast and encouraged we did it again and again.
We bootstrapped the whole business, putting every penny earned back into the business and finally built our own distillery in Wadhurst a year ago.
Now Birch Gin is stocked in 200+ wine merchants, farm shops, delicatessens, pubs and restaurants and in the esteemed Berry Bros & Rudd. Our gins have won 9 international awards and we have enjoyed fabulous reviews both for our gin and the packaging we designed.
This has been a labour of love and worth every second.

At Birch Gin we’re delighted that our little distillery in Wadhurst, Sussex was awarded 5 Hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency. We thought we’d celebrate by making some of our delicious Navy Strength gin. Yum! Kapow!

This is Birch Gin Navy Strength - we entered it into two of the most influential international competitions and are delighted to inform you that it is a double award winner! Described by the lovely Karen as "utterly divine rocket fuel" we do feel it is rather special. A bolder version of our original Birch Gin with pronounced orange and aniseed notes this stunning premium gin delights in so many ways.

Birch Gin now have nine international awards in total.

Our original gin took over a decade to perfect so it won't surprise you to know we like to take our time in getting things right. Between now and end 2023 we have plans to launch several new products that we have spent years perfecting and to begin selling Birch Gin internationally.
