3D Printing Services – Reinvented
Generative design is a technique that results in parts with incredible strength to weight ratios, like this reimagined bike stem we designed in-house, and took from render to reality with 3D printing.
This part was designed and rendered in .
It’s very important to match the right design to the right process. But occasionally it’s possible to design something equally suitable for FDM, SLA and SLS printing!
This model has a connecting road made from onyx, and a piston made from Tough PLA.
Often the best way to get optimum results is to mix and match processes and materials.
A good way of checking that your generative design has worked is rerunning the stress analysis from scratch once you’re done.
In this case, the consistent stresses indicate an efficient design. Final part printed using Nylon-12 using SLS
Exciting news! We’re now able to offer SLS printing to customers.
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) is perfect for short production runs, and parts that need good resistance to heat, stress and impact - such as this bike pedal.
Designers also have much greater freedom - as no supports are needed.
We’re starting the New Year in our new office at the Oxford Centre for Innovation!
It’s so great to be based right in the heart of this beautiful city - right next to the castle!
The finished piece looks beautiful!
We’re doing some sample prints today - each of these chess pieces has a beautiful textured exterior and a full spiral staircase on the inside. Stay tuned to see the final result!
The smooth finish of SLA resins makes them a good fit for consumer product prototypes. We made ten of these for CMS Industries with one of our Form 3’s and they look just like they were injection moulded!
Today marks one full year of trading for us. Starting a business in the middle of the pandemic has been challenging but also very rewarding.
Thank you to all of our customers, suppliers and partners for helping Printpool succeed. Here's to the next 12 months!
really do make some of the finest extruder 3D printers around. We love our S-series printers, supplied by .print3d !
Fingers crossed for today, competing at Silverstone in the 2021 competition. We 3D printed parts used on the aerodynamics and steering packages, and we love the look of the PrintPool logos scattered across this stunning car!
A prototype of a 3D printed glasses design. The set is printed in a single piece and features a compliant mechanism to allow the arms to bend. Original design, with mechanism inspired by .ch

Fresh off the Form 3! We made a very nice chocolate mould with this one (and some very delicious chocolate too!)
We love how photogenic the Form Cure makes our parts look. Especially the clear resin!
How well are you currently prototyping your designs? Sending parts to the 3D printer for a final check before production is not enough. Is your team missing out on valuable insights to improve your product?
If you are developing physical products of any kind then benchmark your effectiveness for free with The Effective Prototyping Scorecard.
Set yourself and your company up for success in 2021. It only takes 2-4 minutes to complete.
Here we go again! Don’t worry, PrintPool still remains open and able to produce your 3D prints and prototypes!
Do you make chocolate, candles or resin jewellery? We can use 3D printing to manufacture custom moulds for bespoke products in a matter of days.
Get in touch with us to find out how we can help you create something completely unique.
This weekend we have been testing and refining our process for creating food-safe silicone moulds using 3D printed masters.
3D printing is not just for engineers. If you’re a chocolatier, a candlemaker or an artist, wanting to create your own custom made moulds, 3D printing can be perfect for you!

About Us
PrintPool was created in 2020 in Oxford, when we noticed that engineers, makers and designers who couldn’t, or didn’t want to invest in their own 3D-Printers had very few options other than conventional AM service bureaus, which were often extremely expensive and inflexible.
PrintPool was launched to fill this gap in the market, offering subscription plans from day one that would give customers more predictability in their expenditure and cash-flow without limiting their choice in processes or materials for 3D printed parts.
We aim to provide the quality and variety of a large bureau service, but without the cost, and the speed and flexibility of in-house printing, without the inconvenience.
