Some members in Dulwich and West Norwood CLP have set up a new reading group of Marx's Capital, facilitated by SOAS Professor Alfredo Saad Filho. The format of the meetings will be presentation/discussion based, with independent reading expected in between meetings. It's open to all and will meet every two weeks starting 31st July. In response to us calling 13 days of consecutive strike action later this month (20th January - 1st February), the company has decided to shut down the Ritzy completely, including when we're not on strike, and lock us out. They are going to try and starve us back to work.
We've been striking for close to 17 months now, and we're now in some of the busiest months of the year for Picturehouse. They want to scare us and break us.
We've lost money over this strike and we've made lots of sacrifices, but to lose almost half of our monthly income, is more than any of us can afford.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We have five cinemas on strike for 13 consecutive days, with the Ritzy expected to be shut for the entire duration of that period. If we're going to keep everyone in rent and food we need £20,000.
