Frankie's story: finding hope through adversity 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Frankie has faced homelessness since 2019, often ending up in unsafe living situations. As a trans, neuro-divergent man, Frankie experienced financial abuse and exploitation by fellow housemates, forcing him to leave his flat share.

The stress led to him dropping out of university, and in October 2021, he attempted su***de and was hospitalised.

During recovery, Frankie turned to the Centrepoint Helpline and, on Christmas Eve 2021, secured emergency accommodation in a hotel.

Despite recovering from addiction, Frankie found solace in making friends while there and engaging in activities with other residents, helping him to prevent a relapse.

In May 2022, Centrepoint placed Frankie in semi-supported accommodation, where he was able to start regaining his independence with the support of his housemates and psychotherapy services.

Frankie's journey underscores the importance of providing safety and security for everyone.

Aysar's journey is a testament to his strength and determination to keep going despite the challenges and obstacles put in his way. We greatly admire his resilience and courage.
