I live in Arundel Drive, Battlefield, and around five years ago I got sick of looking out and seeing five-foot high weeds down our tree lined street. I decided to do something about it and first bought a strimmer to rid the street of weeds, then bought a mower to keep the grass neat...and that's how I got the gardening bug!

I next decided to lay cobbles for car parking, paint the telephone exchange box green and put in raised beds for flowers and shrubs, then put up a small fence made out of large branches pruned from one of the trees. Having really enjoyed doing this work on the street, I was delighted when residents in the local area began to offer me paid gardening work.

Five years later and I'm still loving the gardening work. My main career is editing TV programmes which I do freelance, but when I'm not sat in an edit suite I love to be out in the fresh air working in my street or transforming my customers' gardens.
