Textile artist, inspired by Nature and beautiful surroundings . Member of ‘S.E.W‘ @societyforemb
There is something about the contrast of a stark flower bed and barren branches laying against a backdrop of decaying leaves. It’s a different kind of beauty that other seasons bring. .. what does beauty mean ?

Packing up these two little beauties ready to delivery to Cheltenham tomorrow in preparation for small works Winter exhibition. All work chosen is 10” inches or less.
I love a visit to Cheltenham, especially this time of the year, great galleries, shops and restaurants 🤍
Textile art is something that I have found an infinitely with and I really can’t imagine my life without it.
This piece ‘Frozen Lake’ was put together using off cuts of fabric given to me by a local interior soft furnishings designer.
The high quality fabric, with its monochromatic colours and textures, inspired me to make this frozen Winter Landscape.
The fabric was carefully chosen and layered to create a sense of distance and space, then secured with free-motion machine stitching. Finishing with glitter embellishments and machine embroidered foliage, to add detail and interest.
All put together without over thinking or much planning, I hope you like the finish.
Thanks to this image has been chosen as one of the unique images in a pack of 20 Christmas cards on sale.
Connecting with and supporting my local community, this weekend at a local craft Fayre. This is me wearing my lovely newly purchased William Morris style cross over pinafore. A new design by a local company.
‘Habitat’ my mixed media sculptures, have been selected for The Lingering Memories exhibition
This is when I enjoy working with mixed media.. when things flow.. the ideas, the fabric, paper and stitching, with ease and without much thought. It’s not always that way, some projects take much more time and thought to develop… I wouldn’t change this creative journey 🤍
Working on a mixed media sculptures, with the idea of creating a diverse habitat. I’m combining as many different types of media as I can, including paper, fabric, polystyrene, dried seaweed, stitched work. The challenge is to create a diverse range of forms and textures to resemble the diversity of habitat.
Hello Artists…

Great Artcan ‘Home’ event last night, had some good arty conversations and we purchased a piece of art and commissioned two portraits.
Exploring further the process of enveloping paper, fabric and stitch to represent the unraveling of fossils found on the Jurassic Coast.
Sharing a few of my favourite photos taken this weekend in North East Devon.
Waking up to sunshine at The Charming Pig hotel in Combe in North Devon.
I’m fascinated by the delicate embroidery samplers stitched by an 11 year old girl in the 1800’s. Such intricate tiny stitches, it must have taken dedication and discipline to complete.
Off to the Jurassic coastline today to search for fossils and inspiration for my next project.
More explorations with Gelli printing this afternoon. This time using a page from a glossy magazine, plants from the garden and layers of acrylic paint. Really pleased with the aged look and foliage shapes.
Sometimes you just get blown away by a piece of art and you just have to have it.😊🤍
What’s really special about this beauty is that it is painted by someone I know as a textile artist.
recently exhibited her work with
Jackie has recently embarked on a new series of abstract paintings and this one looks perfect in my bedroom. Thankyou Jackie, I look forward to seeing more of your paintings 😉😊
Having a play day with Gelli printing and some of my stitched botanical samples. Enjoying exploring the textures and tones, particularly enjoying revealing the stitching and textured embroidery pieces.
Favourite Artist.
I had the opportunity to meet .art while dropping off my Dragonfly Embroidery at The Stitch by Stitch exhibition at the Willow gallery.
We had a lovely textile art chat and I was absolutely mesmerised by the striking resemblance to Camilla and the quality and detail of her hand embroidery.
I’ve chosen this piece because, it’s so unique and different from my machine embroidered sculptures and I admire anyone that can create such art with a needle and thread.
A little join outing to Chipping Campden with fellow textile artist to visit the and meet the curator Amy
This fantastic unique exhibition is now finished but more to come soon.

Ariel view taking on approach to Birmingham airport from the Algarve…
The landscape looks so baron, it was hardly recognisable…. I’m considering making a textile interpretation, as a reminder of the scorching heat and high temperatures, that have begun to leave its mark on our landscape.
My next exhibition at the Crypt Gallery in London.
I’m really looking forward to seeing my work displayed in this unusual atmospheric gallery.
National Embroidery Day.
This machine embroidered landscape was one of my earliest pieces and thanks to it made me realise that
Now a few years later I’m proud to say that my more contemporary work is on exhibition at in London this September as part of the Legacy exhibition.
Returning to Nature… Stitched sculptures. Sharing some of my favourites.. I love the way they merge into nature. Thinking of new ways to take this method further to include nature’s fibres into my work.

Really pleased to share, that have chosen two pieces of my contemporary stitched art for exhibition in London in September.
Twilight sailing…
Making a textile seascape is an opportunity to play and experiment with fabric manipulation to create texture and depth.
Instinctively choosing the right fabric to fray and distress, exposing the fibres to emulate the movement of the ocean, helps create a sense of depth and perspective.
Stitching exploring

Cornish Coastline.. a little play with watercolour…
