In an under promoted game tonight (whoops!) the Sliders welcomed the Buccaneers from North Down Softball Club. Despite some good hits and some good fielding, it wasn’t enough to stop a strong and smart hitting Buccs came out on top 21-16

Sliders open their 2024 league season with a win!

Cyclones 18
Sliders 21

Sliders started well in some pretty grim wind and rain. After a third inning doughnut the sliders were only one ahead. The Belfast Softball Club Cyclones pitcher suffered an unfortunate ball to the head, leading to a substitute pitcher stepping in. Sliders managed to eke out a lead with a defensive wobble in the top of the sixth, but a home run from Casey followed by a great defensive display at the top of the seventh closed the game for the home team

Thanks to Belfast Softball Club Smokin Aces (with a couple of blow ins) for the just about pre-season friendly tonight! 23-23 seems about right while we all remember what we’re supposed to be doing on the field!

Four Sliders headed down to the tournament today where the Banana Babes scored their first win!

Sliders had a great day down at Softball Ireland Brian Walshe Cup, getting to the Plate final, losing to the Bearcats. We think that makes us the top team in Softball Ulster? Yes we’re fairly sure how this works

Sliders rocked up to biggest EoS ever with 16 teams entered. With 3 wins under their belt they managed to win their group. Unfortunately the tide turned against them at this point and they lost the semifinal leaving them in 4th place…. Which they will definitely take as a great result 😊😊😊 ⚾️

Final game of the season for sliders against the cyclones . Sliders were looking for revenge after their previous encounter. All was going well until the 6th where a big inning for the cyclones made it all level. Thankfully sliders managed to get 2 runs in and shut out the visitors at the top of 7 to take the win 21-19. Means the we take the 4th place spot in the league this season ⚾️
